A perfect "smart charger" for my go-bag that can use either 5v USB, 12v car, or 110v AC as a power source.
This is a true "smart charger". The charger will sense the battery voltage when you first put a battery in to determine whether it is a NiMH or Lithium ion battery. It will then select the appropriate charging voltage and measure the resultant charge current. It will adjust the charge voltage to maintain a safe charge current. What's really nice is that you can monitor the voltage and total current (milliamp-hours) as the battery is being charged on the built-in lighted display. It also measures the total charge time. I bought this to be able to charge my eneloop NiMH batteries using a 5 volt USB power source (for my go bag - with either a solar cell source Anker 21W Dual USB Solar Charger, PowerPort Solar for iPhone 7 / 6s / Plus, iPad Pro / Air 2 / mini, Galaxy S7 / S6 / Edge / Plus, Note 5 / 4, LG, Nexus, HTC and More or hand crank source The American Red Cross FR1 Emergency Weather Radio with Smartphone Charger, ARCFR1WXR ). It works great for this. This charger also happens to be much nicer than any of my other NiMH battery chargers, so it's become my main charger. I'm glad they also included a 110v AC to 12v DC wall transformer to use when at home. Also, unlike my other chargers, the batteries do not become hot while charging in this charger because they keep the charge current down to a reasonable level.

Perfect for use with portal solar charger.
If you are like me, you love your technology... mobile devices, cameras, headlamps/flashlights, small fans, or maybe even a Night Oberservation Device or thermal viewer. All of those things are great fun, until you run out of juice and then you’re hauling around a paperweight.I was looking for the perfect charger to use off grid with a portable solar panel. I needed something that could charge a variety of different battery sizes and types. I have the usual AA & AAA sized NiMH batteries, plus some Lithium Ion 18650 and RCR123A batteries. One of the main things I wanted out of the package was the ability to use the 12V DC Output of my Solar Panel to enable faster charging times. This charger is a great match for that requirement. In my mind it is also a huge bonus that It will charge from a 5V input as well. That means if I can’t be in a place where I’m able to use the charger directly from the panel, I can always use my large portable backup battery and it’s 5V USB outputs with this charger as well.Even with moderate sun exposure, powering this via solar panel’s 12V output, this took a pair of 18650 batteries from 54% to Full in about 30 minutes. I also like that this has intelligent battery selection and overcharge protection and won’t overcharge the batteries.I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend this for any need, but especially if you’re trying to use this in a more “on the go” fashion.Solar Panel -> http://amzn.to/2uxSEuM (Sunkingdom 26W 2 Port Folding Solar Panel)

Good value for a SAFE charger.
Good value for a SAFE charger. Fit's many sizes, over charge protection, battery info gauges, and a solid design. My ONLY complaint (minor) is that there are no printed symbols for what end is neg/poss on the charger. I remedied this quickly with a label I stuck to the side stating which end was which.

More like Over-Charger!
On the first use the Warmonster charger put >1600 mAh into 1100 mAh cells as shown. These were quality EBL NI-MH AAA cells hardly used. The charger never detected the cell(s) delta peak voltage therefore it failed to shut down automatically. After 3 hours I shut it down manually to prevent a fire. Cells were very hot and likely overcharged/damaged. Perhaps I got a dud. Going to try another charger. Warmonster failed to respond to warranty request via amazon.

Not bad, for the money.
Seems to work okay, except it won't charge some of my older Ni-MH batteries that work fine in my La Crosse. It is nice to have the capability to charge such a wide range of batteries, though, and so far it hasn't fried anything.

Screen not working now.
This worked great until the screen stopped working. Don't know why.Now I cannot return it because it is outside the return window, even though I have not used it but a few times.
