Great for learning how to ride a bike and more.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Love it. I bought the 16” one for my 3 year old son who didn’t know how to ride a bike. Within two weeks he learned how to balance and I allowed him to use the battery. He continues to advance quickly and now always rides on the medium speed mode. About twice a week, I go to the trails to get in a run and instead of pushing him in the stroller I can now run independently while he rides the stacyc. The bike is very durable. I know the bike is expensive, however it is as definitely worth it. When my younger son turns 2, I will probably buy another one.

no longer works after 4 months
We purchased the 12" Harley version of this e-bike for our son's 5th birthday. He loved it and I had grand notions of eventually upgrading to a bigger one until it recently just died on us. The lights come up but the throttle didn't work anymore. Harley says Stacyc only gives a 3-month warranty on the electrical parts (I wish I knew or I may not have purchased it). When I emailed Stacyc, it seems like a robot emails me back saying, "Please ride on level terrain, etc." without an acknowledgment that the bike just isn't working. $700 is a tremendous amount of money to spend for poor customer service and a very limited warranty. We loved the bike when it worked for the first 4 months but won't recommend this to anyone unless you're made of money and don't care about it not lasting long.

Awesome design, easy to learn, brake could be improved
With my 5 year old resisting bicycle training, I decided to give this a shot. Amazingly, in less than 5 minutes, he was able to ride the STACYC on two wheels, despite not yet being able to ride a bicycle! With the exception of the hand brake, the STACYC design is awesome and our son is VERY happy with his new "electric motorcycle." More review/details below.Design/Quality: Quality seems good - with no flimsy or cheap looking parts. Everything worked exactly as advertised right out of the box. The throttle feels good, just like an adult motorcycle (although my 5 year old did mention some wrist fatigue after about 20 minutes). The electric drive train functions exactly as I expected and feels robust. It does produce a notable noise/whir, sounding almost like those electric scooter boards that kids sometimes use to zip around the neighborhood. The rear (only) brake is hand operated, but it was very difficult for my 5 year old to pull adequately. The brake design is my only real product complaint so far. The initial price does seem high compared to other youth electric vehicles (made in Taiwan).First ride impression: I was blown away - in less than 5 minutes, my 5 year old son was able to ride the STACYC on two wheels, despite not yet being able to ride a bicycle. He rode for about 30 minutes today and LOVED it - the battery was still going strong. The low seat seemed to make him feel much more comfortable than he is on his 16" bicycle. In fact, he initially dragged his feet like outriggers for slowing and stopping, but this also caused him to get unstable. Eventually he started picking up his feet and using the brake, but it was a struggle most of the time due to the high lever force. We kept it on the lowest speed, which was roughly an adult jogging pace. We are happy so far - and eager to see if this helps him master a pedal bike in the near future (and motorcycles eventually).Side note: The company has posted pics/videos of their kids jumping and doing tricks on the STACYC, but the manual says "These stability cycles are not made to withstand abuse... such as jumping... or any other type of stunts.".Follow-up: Our son has now learned to ride his bicycle, just two weeks after the Stacyc. Seeing this rapid progression has my wife from skeptical to officially impressed with the Stacyc.

Doesn’t last.
My son loved this bike for less than a year. We bought the 12’’ and it only came with the small battery. We purchased another large capacity battery through Stacyc.com and needless to say. We didn’t get one more week out the bike. It just stopped working. We troubleshot everything we could find online and it still didn’t work. I finally through it in the garbage and bought him a Yamaha PW50. Spend the extra money and get something that lasts.

Lasted 20 days.
I bought both my grandsons one for Christmas. They both loved them, but after 20 days my four year old grandson's 16eDrive started smoking while he was on it. We got him off of it immediately, and pulled the battery. Now if I put a battery in it and turn the throttle, it will turn the rear wheel, but it makes an awful noise. It smells of burnt electronics inside. These are not made to last. Stacyc is ignoring my warranty claim so far. I am sure there will be a class action soon.
