AST Labs Test Leads Silicone Alligator Clip Bed of Nails to Banana Plug Male Right Angle (36 inches)

I added these leads to my arsenal, because I find myself having to "tap" into wires with minimal damage.The silicone leads are nice and flexible.The bed-of-nails type of clamp makes them perfect for my needs.These fit my Fluke meters with no problems.

Used these as replacement leads for my Snap On test meter. I use backprobes more now but still use a bed of nails for convenience on those wires with hard to access connectors where the bed of nails shines. If wire insulation damage is a problem then a light coat of clear silicone on the wire will seal it right up.

I am satisfied with the quality of these. I should have paid the extra five dollars for 18 inches more wire. The clips are not molded to the wire so the insulating sleeves can be removed revealing soldered wire connections. They have some kind of protective coating that makes ohm readings weird until it is removed. I used lacquer thinner to take it off the tips of the clips. Fit fine in my Fluke DVM.

I would not be surprised if these came from the same factory where they make Fluke jumpers.

Product is good, alligator piercing tips and 90 degree banana plugs just what I wanted. 18 inch is too short for automotive work though, good for bench work. My mistake not theirs.

I have been looking for these types of test clips since I retired from Bell Labs in 1999.
