A Lovely New Addition
The songs on here are some of the most beautiful versions and songs I have heard from the Deep Forest Crew of singers, song writters, and musicians. I was floored when I first heard the songs especially "Anasthasia" at Number 4. The song is also on their CD Boheme but in a different version. The music on this CD like on their other CDs is very soothing to listen to especially when I am laying in bed sleeping. If you've liked their other CDs this one is well worth to get.

BEWARE! Samples songs not the same as the CD!
None of the songs on the sample are Deep Forest, the labels are right but the music itself is various other artist. The CD itself has the correct songs, the digital download does not and matches the samples. I found this out when I ordered the CD after listening to the samples only to get a CD thats the correct CD with different songs. I ended up buying the digital album and it matches the samples, returning the CD.

Solid
Many good tracks. Very uplifting and well produced. Been jamming Deel Forest since their initial debut. Wat back in the early 90's. The first cd My Father bought me for my Sony boom box.

This album is quite good for as different as it is and I recommend it if you like zen/new age music. More importantly I like the vocals which sound like words but are not or are they?

Essence of the....
Be careful about ordering this product. Not because of the music or tracks, I haven't had the fortune to hear any of it yet. Make sure you get the 18 track 20.00 CD (the one with the red leaf on the front)and not the $10.00 one.

Cool Forest.
Very relaxing "ambient background music." I like the rhythms, vocals, and songs, which I love playing on my car CD player when driving, to keep me cool and calm.

Into the deep forest...
This is not a typical "best of" compilation, so if you're looking for a proper collection of greatest hits, you may be disappointed. I am well aware of the first 3-4 Deep Forest albums, and I can clearly see something is missing. However, you get something else in return. The tracks that are clearly missing, in my opinion, are the great lead single from Comparsa, Madazulu, the original radio mix of Sweet Lullaby and Media Luna from Comparsa. The soundtrack "Pacifique" is represented here only by the short L'ile Invisible, while the "Pacifique" album is not even mentioned in the booklet (which provides a short biography and pictures of the album covers until "Music Detected", and "Pacifique" is clearly missing...)The project's greatest album, Boheme, is fairly well represented with several songs, however the inclusion of Anasthasia may be a bit surprising. The editing job on this track and Freedom Cry could be done in a better way though...Several tracks are taken from the then latest album, "Music Detected", and this is a good introduction to this album. I don't have it yet, but it sounds promising. However, the big difference between the early classic Deep Forest sound (dance music mixed with folky samples) sounds a bit at odds with the later guitar+percussion+live vocals approach taken by the band for "Music Detected". So the album has a sort of "double personality".And now for the "up-side". You get a number of new mixes for the tracks from the first album as well as some bonus mixes, and a totally different arrangement of Sweet Lullaby, featuring Ana Toroja, known from the chilling Media Luna, from the album Comparsa. While this album is not a proper "best of" for me, it does provide a good insight into the VARIETY of the music they make. A good introduction, but new beginners should be aware that the tracks from the first album are all remixed, they are sadly not the originals. You cannot keep everyone happy, but nonetheless I find this compilation to be worth getting.

Chilled World Music
I bought this album more year ago that I care to mention. I loved it then and love it still.I find that the albums that I keep are those that are either instrumental or that contain languages that I don't understand. This album mixes world music with world languages. The voices are so passionate and each one so different from the others.

Beautifully recorded album.
An excellent album and very good introduction to the music of Deep Forest with some well known items and others not so.
