This is a great little set and it appears to be well made and sturdy. It has completely charmed my 4 and 6 year old girls. They love to line up the dolls and play with them and then close them up again. The dolls are made of wood and appear to be painted, not printed. I would have believed that they were a hand-made souvenir from somewhere if I didn't know they came from Amazon! Precious. The only tiny downside is that on the two biggest dolls, the lid fits so tight it makes a loud squeak as it's being twisted open. Otherwise, this may have been the biggest hit at Christmas!

My granddaughter always plays with mine so I decided to get her one as part of her holiday gifts. This is a beautiful set that has so many layers of Russian dolls. She is 4 and her brother who is 3 has been playing as well. Every piece has held up so far and they have been playing with these precious dolls for over a month. These dolls are flat painted unlike my collection but that doesn’t bother them at all. Really beautifully painted.

Purchased these for Christmas for my 2 granddaughters who were always battling over another set I had. Although somewhat larger than I expected the 2 & 3 year olds loved taking them apart and putting back together. The smallest pieces are very tiny so definitely not for a child who may put things in their mouth. Seemed sturdy enough to withstand constant handling and a couple of drops, although we may have just been lucky on that part. The colors were bright and clear and no they are not lacquered but seem fine for play on a limited basis through the holidays. They will look forward to seeing these dolls each year at Christmas time!

Bought it for my daughter- it was beautifully painted and the pieces fit together well, but there was absolutely NO SEALER on any of the dolls - inside or out. The paint felt a little chalky too (like it could be rubbed off). I had to buy some spray sealant, so plan on spending an extra $10.

Bought for my granddaughter bday. The return date passed before I even gave it to her. It is made of such thin material and is just falling apart one by one. 😡
