I received my clippers and found that the lock and the stopper were impossible to move so I returned them. I got an email from the manufacturer's owner the day I did receive them asking how I liked them. I wrote him back telling him I did not like them and planned on returning them because of the defects. He kindly offered to send me another pair at no cost. I accepted. It took another email from me to remind him of this before I got the next clipper. It was the identical clipper but as soon as I took them from the package all seemed to work much better. These are the most expensive clippers on the site and I wanted something sharp to trim my large dog's thick toenails easily. I am a CVT and I also trim other dog's nails and teach people how to trim their dog's nails. I like the stopper on these as it makes people and myself more comfortable knowing you are not taking off too much nail if performed on a regular basis. The lock on this pair slips depending on direction but not a big deal. The blades are strong and sharp and the handles comfortable. I have severe arthritis in my hands so need these two factors most of all.These are probably not the best quality clippers on the market but I do appreciate the additional amenity of the stopper and I am impressed by the manufacturer's service in spite of my having to contact them twice.

These are nice nail clippers for our medium & small 2 dogs but I really needed "sharp" clippers for our German Shepherd. These just do not work well for THICK nails such as his. This is the only reason I gave them only 3 stars. I cannot seem to find a company that sells great clippers for large breed. But if you need clippers for medium to small dog then these are great quality.

After I cut each nail the clippers have relocked and I have to push the unlock lever ( or whatever you want to call it ) back to the open position. Luckily my dogs are very good about getting their nails clipped but this would pose a problem for a dog that doesn't want to stat still and you need to get done quickly. As it is it's just a pain in the butt for me.

I hate trimming dog nails. I got these, used them once, and never touched them again. I'd rather take my pups to the vet to have them done. That being said, these really are a great quality. You can move the safety guard which could come in handy.

I just got my clippers and used them for the first time. They worked great. Very well constructed and easy to use. I'm a little new to cutting my dog's claws so it was a bit of task getting my big golden lab to relax about it but he settled down and the clippers did the job fast and easy. The stopper guard worked fine making sure I didn't cut too much nail off. It did wiggle around a little so I took a wrench to it and tightened it down just a little and it stayed put just fine. I'm very satisfied!

I love the concept of the nail guard that prevents too deep a cut, but this one like all others just doesn't work well. It has considerable heft and the blade is sharp. The handle is large and comfortable, but I am forever adjusting the guard. Doesn't stay tight. May just go back to the guillotine type.

Formerly, I was a Breeder of dogs. Over the years, I have tried every nail clipper on the market and none of them cut as clean as these do. EXCELLENT! I now have a 100# Rhodesian Ridgeback/German Shepherd mix that has hugh toe nails, almost equivalent to lumber, and these cutters actually cut his nails, without leaving burs or thin uncut top layers. GREAT PRODUCT! PS, none of the nail clippers at PetSmart or Petco cut as CLEAN AS THESE DO!

This is not a quality item. The grips are hard and uncomfortable. The locking clip is crude in that when you push it to lock it digs into your thumb. When you use an item life this daily on very large animals with very large nails it can be uncomfortable for the groomer. I think my money can be used to purchase a pair of quality even if they are more expensive. The dogs and I really don't care about pretty.
