LIFE SAVER!!! My son is four, and he is potty trained. However, he can't walk yet, and he uses a power wheelchair. Sometimes I can't get him to the bathroom quick enough, or out on the go, he'll have to go! These are great and easy to pack. They fit right over him perfectly with no spill or mess. After he goes, the bag turns the liquid into gel. It doesn't spill, and amazingly, it doesn't smell, WHAT!!! Thank you travel john, you made this special needs mom worry a little less while out on the go.

So I've used many different travel toiletry items including the portable fold open commode style toilets as well as depends type items down inside of them to prevent spilling and none have I ever found to be anywhere near as good as this one. It not only work for myself a 35 year old female but also worked perfectly for my husband and my ten-year-old son it immediately turned to solid when using it and no leaks perfect for long drives with an unknown time in between bathroom breaks. Especially when you come to a bathroom that is just too atrocious or nighttime. Great for when you drive for work and do not want to stop in the middle of the winter to try to find a safe restroom. Purchasing this item again. Went through around one packet per restroom break without any spilling over with a full bladder if you will. Also perfect to keep one all neatly wrapped in your car center console for emergencies, or that stuck in traffic jam winter accident kit. I bough these for a road trip where I was traveling with a small child. Kids are notorious for “I CAN’T HOLD IT, MOM!” moments and there isn’t always a restroom close by.Do they hold enough liquid for a multi-use situation? Sure.Did EYE use the same one multiple times? Absolutely not.They’re very easy to use, the lip should prevent…spillage. I’ve ordered at least 5-6 boxes of these and have recommended them to friends.

I can't tell you how many times I'm at a fair or festival, playground, or park with the kids and they need to go potty -- and my only option is the gross smelly port a potty that has flies swarming all around. When I had my boy it was easy for me to get him to discreetly go in the bushes. Now that I have a girl I can't do that. So I go to the car, get a cover up blanket, and the kids go in the travel john. Clean, fast, discrete, hold a lot of liquid (I'll have both kids use the same bag). I even used it myself once in a pinch. Excellent product -- only caveat is the high price. But for me worth the expense to avoid smelly port a potties.

My three year old has a habit of needing to use a restroom when there is no possible way to get to one! I bought these for a long trip we took. Unfortunately, I forgot to put them ALL in the car and only had one on hand. We used it for my son on the way up (in a parking lot) and didn't have a trash can to throw it in so I carefully stored it while we drove. THANK GOODNESS WE STILL HAD IT! A couple hours later, my 5 year old daughter had to go...I knew it held up to 20 oz., so I used the same one. It worked like a dream! And she was really excited to use it...go figure. Anyway, by the time we got to our destination and unpacked everything, the "travel john" was accidentally left in the car overnight! I realized it the next day and ran to the car, terrified of what smell I might find. I was shocked to find that there was NO smell at ALL! So, long story short, they do exactly what they say. They don't leak since it's all absorbed by a gel; they don't smell and they are compact enough to keep a couple in your glove box. Oh, as soon as we arrived at our vacation rental, I ordered ANOTHER package for our trip home! Love them!

This has been a lifesaver for our family of world travelers. With three kids, it's pretty much inevitable that someone will need to go "RIGHT NOW" when we are as far from potential potty options as possible. This works for both boys and girls, and you truly can just put it in your bag until you can dispose of it. Once the gel sets (maybe 30 seconds), you can turn it upside down without even a drop escaping, as pictured. It holds plenty, too - at least two kids' bladdersful. Fits in a pocket easily before use, expands to about thermos-sized when full. Highly recommend for anyone with kids or anyone who travels frequently- especially women who have fewer bathroom options.

I spend alot of time on the road driving. And in some parts of the country I drive thru (i.e. Alligator Ally - Everglades) roadside restrooms are not to be found neither are other options exactly ideal. Have used TravelJohn since I first found them years ago with great satisfaction. Safe, clean, hygienic. Even prevents the odor one would expect (as long as you dispose of properly when you get to destination and dont forget it). Only issue I ever had was size, original TravelJohn has a very large capacity. Jr on the other hand is perfect, especially if traveling with children. The infamous "Dad I gotta go" as soon as your out on the highway is no longer to be feared. And yes the design of them works well for boys or girls.Supposed to work as a barf bag also. But to be honest have never needed to test that option.

My son is learning to use the potty and since he has special needs, still has frequent accidents. I keep a stash of these in my diaper bag and in our car's glove compartment box. They work very well to absorb liquids fast and with a lot of room to spare for more liquids. No leaks ever (I put it on the floor in the back seat until we can find a trash can) and it's very easy for him to use. Plus I love how small the roll up so they don't take up much space in my diaper bag.We also use these in public restrooms so we don't have to flush the toilet (he's very afraid of noises and those auto flush toilets are the worst) and I've used them in public restrooms since I am disabled and to keep it brief, logistics aren't in my favor in a small stall so this comes in handy. It's been problem free for me as an adult woman as well.
