I got this to press out my hair without the need of a hotplate. It does well, when I take my time. The only drawback is that the combs do not come out where they can be cleaned.It does edges very well and is very good on the entire head if one takes their time.

I don’t find this to do much of anything. Also as I have fine hair I was surprised that it still catches and pulls at the hair, definitely not for thick or coarse hair. It does not help to straighten the roots any more than with just a flatiron. Waste of money and of time.

Love it, I only wish the teeth were closer together. I haven’t had any problems keeping the temperture where it’s supposed to be

I misunderstood the specifications. I thought that it could go up to 450ﾟ but that it was adjustable. I saw all the little LED indicators on the front of it in the pics and I thought that you could bump it up to 450 or down to a lower temp. You can't. It's just plain hot!I bought 2 of these. I got one for my mom for Mother's Day because she has stopped using relaxers is due to her hair falling out from chemicals. Her new growth is pretty short so I thought that on the days when she wanted to wear a straighter style that she could just glide her hair through this but the teeth really hang up in the hair and don't really glide over the ceramic barrel the way I thought it would. I got another for me. I have very long curly hair and I sometimes use a ceramic brush to straighten my hair but the brush doesn't straighten all the way down to the roots. I thought this root comb would be just the ticket. Once I saw how it was tangling in my mother's short hair, I figured this wasn't going to be for me (but to be fair, I have not tried on my own hair yet). I thought it would be a nightmare to get this thing out of my hair. The other thing is the high heat. My hair strands are fine like a spider's web almost. Even though my texture is very curly, I don't think the strands are coarse enough to withstand 450 degrees without burning. Also, the barrel just looks like metal to me. It doesn't look like the same stuff as the coated ceramic brushes that you can just pull easily through the hair. I tried on my mom's short hair and it was hard to pull through and it took repeated passes. The price was right but I should have read the specs better.

This straightener works great & I like the temperature settings. I use it on low & it gets the job done

I love the product. I used it on my daughters hair. Her hair is a 4c type. It straightened her hair really well. I wish they could of added a temperature control because I would like to straighten my wigs with this. Overall very good product.

Unfortunately, this item is just taking up space in my cabinet because it does not work on my hair. My hair is too thick and it just yanks my hair out. Used one time and never used again.

This comb is the best that I have ever had. I have 4C hair and it does a great job. I try not to fry my hair, so I have the temperature in 5-6 degrees setting and that is plenty hot for me. The only complaint that I have is the location of the buttons, they do get in the way.
