The spinner should always be used in an open area free of furniture and always on a hard surface such as wood floors or linoleum, If you are concerned about your floors you can purchase a scrap piece of linoleum from your local home improvement store. We strongly recommend that you do not take the spinner outside to use such as in a garage or sidewalk unless your dancer or skater continues to use on these surfaces--the reason for this is because the wood will pick up tiny rocks, dirt and debris and will more than likely scratch your hardwood floors.
