This is a really nice cable. Well built and good looking
This is a really nice cable. Well built and good looking. At the end of the day, it's just a normal USB cable and works just as good as any other I own. I wasn't really expecting any better performance out of this, but since I had a little extra cash burning a whole in my pocket, I figured I would spoil my Jotunheim with this. 4 Stars because I don't really think it's worth the price.

HIGHLY Recommended Cables
I bought several (four, I think) of these USB cables, mostly because of the following excerpt from the description; "We think the electrons like silver better, or something. Or not." Honesty in advertising is a BIG selling point for me. I have a COAX cable that I use to interface a studio mixer / DI (Digital Interface) to a DAC that also has silver conductors and is triple shielded, although it was a LOT more expensive than the PYST USB cable. In both cases, the digital audio signals carried by these cable, after conversion to analog signals, is simply superb and is 'bit perfect.'.The PYST USB cable is of VERY high quality, which you'll immediately see and feel when you get one. It just reeks of quality. As at least one other reviewer noted, this cable is actually made by StraightWire for Schiit, a company that makes and sells DACs and headphone amps, although StraightWire charges considerably more for this cable. So, as far as that goes, it's somewhat of a bargain, although as of this writing, the cable is no longer available. No idea if that will change or not, but I'm glad I had the foresight to order FOUR of these cables. Better to have more than enough and NOT need them than to need more and NOT be able to buy them!Regardless, I'm more than happy with the quality of these cables and the sound quality they deliver. Whether silver conductors are just smoke and mirrors or, at best, provide some subliminal effect that makes you THINK they sound better than copper, is beyond the scope of this review. All I know is that they sound GREAT and that they were a bargain when I bought them, and that's good enough for me. HIGHLY recommended!

Better than a standard USB cable
Better than a standard USB cable? On the surface doesn't appear to be. It tries to look like a high priced fancy cable, but really feels cheap in your hands. That doesn't mean it fails to perform. I'm very picky about cables. That doesn't mean I buy into the snake oil of Audiophile cables. USB audio transfer is highly debatable that a difference can be heard from one cable to another. This cable sounded great when I plugged it up. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the exterior construction wasn't impressive.

Bought it for 'peace of mind'.
I bought this cable for peace of mind. With the various boutique USB-for-audio-cables out there, I'm certain there is snake oil in their claims. I suspect the amount of snake oil is directly proportional to price. $1000 for a USB-for-audio cable (they exist!) is absurd. However, I'm not above ADMITTING that I bought this to eliminate BASIC concerns by throwing a relatively small amount of money at a most likely negligible issue. There I said it - they got to me. : ) This is the most voodoo that I will buy into. This is as far down the rabbit hole I go. How does it sound? Perfectly fine. I can't tell you there's any night and day difference compared to a conventional data cable. I don't have the time or inclination to do blind AB testing. I can tell you that I am not aware of any "earth shattering" mega noticeable difference. * Maybe * it makes a difference. I'm not going to worry past what I spent on this. The cable itself is visually appealing, appears to be well made. There's not much to it.P.S. Per the Steve Hoffman audio forum, these are rebranded Straight Wire Flexconnect II cables. I don't think Schitt is getting rich off these as a reseller. I trust Schitt's "endorsement" (more or less) by being a reseller of these considering Schitt's product line and history of delivering affordable "can do" audio solutions (their DACs and headphone amps have a solid reputation).

Cables do make a difference
Before I bought this cable I had read on the schiit site that they do not claim sonic benefits, 'they are just good quality cables''.I bought them and started listening not really expecting much sonic benefits. At first I did think that my system was sounding better but thought that it was just because I had not listened for some time. Last night I listened to a few albums, and noticed more defined base drums, and less brightness on some music which before had me turning the vomume down. I started comparing with my old $3 USB cable and the pyst cable and was convinced that there was indeed a difference. I had never believed much in buying expensive cables, but last night I was convinced there was a change. It was so impressive that I could hardly sleep, thinking about what I had heard.Next morning I asked my wife to listen to both cables without telling her what I had heard. She said: The brightness has gone and it does sound better. I know that your mind can play trics but all I can say is that my system has never sounded so good.

What makes these even WORSE is that they are jacketed like you are going ...
More hoodoo voodoo- I have literally dozens of these cables laying around from other computer peripheral purchases in which to compare with these 25 buck a roo cables. The difference? Notta, nothing and not a thing. Save yourself some money and just grab an old peripheral cable. What makes these even WORSE is that they are jacketed like you are going to see combat duty with them which makes cable mgmt nearly impossible.
