Meaning is it attracted to magnets? I believe this is what the other customer was trying to ask?** A: Non- magnetic. It’s been a year and all of my pull chains are good. We recently installed a ceiling fan in a rarely used guest room. Due to the infrequent use it wasn't worth buying a more expensive fan with a remote control or getting an electrician to add a separate wall control (one for light, another for fan - current wall switch controls all power to the fan). Unfortunately, with the placement of the fan in the center of the room, that meant even a tall person would have to climb on something to reach the fan controls. With this ball chain we were able to easily add length to the chains, making it possible for almost anyone to reach the chains to adjust fan speed and/or turn the light on/off. We just used wire snippers to cut the desired length of chain, removed the decorative pulls from the original chains, attached the new length of chain, reattached the decorative pulls, and done!
