Yes, you can secure a 49 mm cap directly to the Nisi adapter. I tried my canon M50 lens cap (49mm) to the adapter and it fits securely. However, I personally have started using sensei 49 mm crew-in metal lens caps. You can use these directly on the adapter or a filter.
