Leakproof and great design
I have the 5 gallon (Midwest Can 5610) with the Quick-Flow Spout which I primarily use for the garden tractor which I use to mow the lawn at least once a week during the growing season here in Virginia. Besides this can, I also have a number of other gas cans from other brands for various things that include a smaller can for the 2 cycle engine needed for the chainsaw, yellow diesel can for rental front loader and spare cans for miscellaneous uses. However, what prompted me to write a review is that all the other brands that I use are leaking around the spout valve and I have to hold them at uncomfortable odd angles to boot. The Midwest 5610 has handle built in on top and back of the can which one really appreciates after using it for the first time. It is very comfortable to hold to get the last drop out of the can. Secondly, the valve self seals when not in use. When in use, you just stick the nozzle into the gas tank until a hook catches against the tank to open the valve. I can use both hands to hold and angle the gas can and the valve automatically open by pressing the nozzle in deeper into the tank. Thirdly, the walls of the gas can is a bit thicker than any other brand that I have. If the nozzle ever breaks, it costs about $8 at the Tractor Supply Store. I hope Amazon will begin carrying the replacement nozzle as after about 5 years, it will probably break. Mine did as I mow sometimes 2 times a week during the growing season. Many refills during the summer from 5 gallons to absolutely empty. I took Midwest can for granted until I started using other brands. Midwest is a way better design. The price is about the same as other brands.

As good as possible with new federal safety rules.
With new safety requirements, gas cans are just awful. No vents , all kinds of interlocks make them hard to use and much less safe in my opinion. This can is just about as good as can be expected.

Junk!
Not even a year old and the nozzle cracked exactly where it screws to the can and started leaking. Now I have to buy a replacement nozzle for it which just increases the overall cost. ๐๐

Had to remove the plastic filters
I took the gas cans to fill them up at the gas station. With the plastic inserts for filtering the gas, I could not fill the cans. I had to go back home and remove the filters that had to be pried out of the opening. Went back to the gas station and could fill the cans then.
