In order to dust in hard-to-reach places--nooks, carvings, between spindles, etc.--wiggle the duster gently, tickling all the surfaces. The feathers will reach in and pull out the dust. I can even use this to easily and quickly dust some of my art, sculptures, and delicate items, if I'm gentle and careful. For spiderwebs that are sticky, spin or twist the duster, and it will pull them off the wall. To clean the duster, just shake or spin, and the dust falls off onto the floor. My only wish is that this duster would come in a larger size. I need a longer handle to reach the ceiling and baseboards. If I had a duster with a longer handle, I might forego this size and go with a second duster a little smaller than this one. Great for around d electronic devises, knick knacks, blinds, light covers and on and on and on! the basic theory is to knock the dust down and the vacuum of sweep it off the floor.
