The Original Mail Catcher Bag Sack Front/Garage Door Slot Letter Catcher Post Box Basket

This mail catcher is awesome, simple & works as advertised.I originally wanted to purchase a metal attached basket. But as i did some research & digging i couldn't find one here on Amazon! Disappointed I looked elsewhere & found 1x on Etsy. But this one was in the UK. Plus it was expensive for both the basket & the shipping delivery. So back to looking for me.Found it! 'The Mail Catcher' was alittle over $10- w/Prime shipping. Not quite what i was looking for but after reading how it works, I purchased.Couldn't be more happier w/my purchase. Only had it attached for 3 days but since then I've rcv'd all my letter mail & magazines in the Mail Catcher nylon bag as promised. Mail arrives dry, no rips & sorted in it's one single place. Unlike before i had mail all over the vestibule floor 😵 so as soon as you walked in you could step all over it. These devices don't seem to be very popular here in North America.The Mail Catcher is made of nylon material that has a very durable feel to it. Install was done in less than 5 mins w/proper tools.I used a phillips screw bit on my screw gun.A pencil to mark 2x areas where the hooks would be placed above the slot.Small wood predrill for making 2x pilot holes.My Install:Unscrew both bottom screws from mail slot.Remove them entirely. The above 2x screws of mail slot only get unscrewed half way.Take the Mail Catcher bag slide it under the mail slot. Using the 2x bottom screw holes, screw original 2x screws back in going through the nylon bag. Now screw the top 2x screws back in.Above the mailslot i made 2x pilot holes for the 2x included hooks that hold the flap of the Mail Catcher bag through 2x metal grommets.That's all really. Once you have delivered mail you simply just unhook the 2x grommets above the mail slot, opening the bag flap & reaching in/down to retrieve your post mail. Easy.This will def make life easier from bending down to pickup scattered, wet & damp mail.Thanks Mail Catcher for coming in w/this much needed product!PS- Not sure why I can't add photos. I feel really old and lazy having one of these... but, it beats walking into the door on a rainy day and slipping on some darn envelopes on the floor.One thing to add... large brochures/fliers don't really fit right; I often find them sticking halfway out of mailbox when I come home. Maybe the mailman is just lazy or something, but just something to be aware of. On occasion he will really shove them in and knock the mail catch off one of the posts.Other than that, small Amazon packages fit fine in here. Installation was super simple. Great product.

This seemed like it would have worked well, however, it didn't work with our door. Our mail slot is directly below windows and you need to hang this from hooks 2 inches above your mail slot. (You unscrew the mail slot, put inner side of the bag under the slot and screw it back to the door, and then hang the outside of the bag above the slot). I suppose I could have figured out some other way of hanging it, but the way it's done insures none of your mail goes out any side openings and on to the floor, which is what you're trying to prevent in the first place. If you have a solid door, this probably works great.

I am not sure why I didn't buy this years ago. It is such a simple solution to a pain in the butt problem. I like the construction, it shows light to allow you to know if there is mail in the bag. Easy to retrieve the mail and so simple to install. All I needed was a drill and a small drill bit to drill two small starter holes to screw in the hooks that hold the flap bag upright. All in all, its a win win!

I was hesitant, but now I'm a believer. We had a basket attached to the back of the door, but recently placed an armoire in a pretty awkward spot, preventing the door from opening fully. Saw this on Amazon, and decided it would be a good temporary fix until I could find something better- but now, I have no desire to keep looking. It really works. Nothing has slipped out the backside, which was my main fear. It really catches everything.

I don't have to bend down and pick up the mail off the floor anymore. This product has saved my back hurting.
