The belt it's self is very comfortable. I do not like wearing scratchy material next to my skin, and the material on this belt is not scratchy. I do find that for me, the handgun needs to be oriented on the side ( inline with my right hip ) for it to be comfortable. We're also not talking about a large handgun, and in this case a S&W M&P shield .45. If oriented otherwise, the weapon dig's into my stomach, side, etc.The reason why I purchased this belt is that I prefer to wear sweat pants for comfort. Not your traditional gym type sweat pants, but pants that are made of sweat pant material. For this purpose this belt works perfect. I'm not sure I would care to wear it inside the belt line, however. Over the top of the pants, with a shirt pulled over works for me. Also keep in mind that if you do wear it inside the belt line. Chances are pretty good the weapon would be touching skin.Additionally, if you like 1911's this belt would probably work with a CS, or maybe an MS sized handgun, FS would probably be too large, and as stated by the seller, would probably snag on the front sight. In addition to that, you would very likely have the handgun pressing hard into your skin at the front of the slide, and back around the thumb safety If one had an elongated thumb safety, and / or wide beaver tail . . . I would imagine that would be very uncomfortable. But maybe the weapon could be oriented in a way to where that could be mitigated. In the future I plan on purchasing a MS HC 1911, so I could try it out at that time. Two minor complaints.First, the belt can be mildly annoying when carrying a spare mag. It's not so annoying I would never carry one, but if I did, I would probably not carry one until I felt that I may potentially need a spare. For my particular handgun it does seem like I could possibly carry two spare mags in the spare mag slot. But in that case, I would not be able to easily adjust their orientation to where they would not "dig in" when sitting.Second, I noticed right off when trying it on, that when wearing it under a shirt, and the handgun is held in with the elastic strap. This strap can easily hang up on the weapon, or in your shirt when trying to pull the weapon free. However, being conscience of that, with a bit of training, one should be able to avoid this issue. Especially if you make a conscience effort, to unsnap the strap, and move it out of the way prior to a potential confrontation.Overall, I like this belt a lot. Now to see how well it lasts.

After I "customized" it, a good holster.
Okay, there is no such thing as a "perfect" holster, and this one is no different. First, the good things. It is extremely well made, especially for the price point. And the cotton lining makes it more comfortable against the skin. But after I practiced drawing my gun with the snap system, things went wrong, fast. In a matter of life or death, seconds count, even milliseconds. So to have to unsnap the retainer strap with my off hand took way too much time, the time you could get easily get yourself killed. Is this "safety" factor worth it then?? I THINK NOT. Add to this problem the fact that the elastic gun pouch covers not only the entire trigger guard but nearly the entire gun, you have to extract it with just a couple of fingers, making for a totally unsure grip when it counts the most. NOT GOOD. So, I simply made a few adjustments, including completely CUTTING OFF the safety strap, then just taking a scissors to the holster portion, cutting away all of the excessive fabric covering the trigger guard and nearly the entire pistol grip. Now I have a very concealable holster, that is lightning fast. I tried it at the target range, and it worked flawlessly.P.S. Know that this is a very wide belt, and if worn during the summer months, it would be pretty uncomfortable. I think that it would be a far better choice for cooler weather, then going with a much smaller holster for when it's hot out. Just my opinion.

Concerned about pistol being secured in the belt at all times.
I purchased the Belly Band Gun Holster for concealed carry of a 40 caliber pistol. The band is approximately 43 and 1/2 inches long by 5 inches wide. There is a strip of velcro hook fastener on one end of the strap that is about 2"x5" that will stick to anywhere on the remainder of the band when pulled around the waist. The entire band is "stretchy" and can be adjusted to your waist size easily. The inside of the belt, next to the skin, is a soft material much like a cotton t-shirt is made of in a black color (the entire band is black except for the white "R"). The area allotted to carry the pistol and magazines is approximately 8 and 1/2 inches by 5 inches and is made of two pieces of elastic, sewn directly over each other and to each other. There are two "pockets" within the elastic to hold a pistol and depending on your caliber, 2 magazines. I can place two 40 cal. magazines easily within the area designated for the magazines. I do have trouble, after wearing the band, with the magazines pushing their way upward with my movement, since there is no strap or means to hold the magazines in place. The strap to hold the pistol securely inside the elastic was a disappointment though. The strap is elastic also, but the snap will not stay snapped on my Belly Band. The strap material the male snap is mounted to is not the elastic strap itself, but another material sewn onto the end of the elastic strap that is similar to nylon tent material. The female snap is mounted on the same material which is then sewn into the elastic that holds the guns/magazines. I will have to modify it in someway to keep the pistol safely in place and from falling out of the band unexpectedly. Since this strap is probably the most important aspect of this Belly Band so as to maintain the gun safely and securely on your person at all times, I only gave it a 2 star. Also, there needs to be someway to keep the mags in their place, otherwise they will ride up and out of the elastic holding them (especially if you carry two mags) as you move around. The belt itself seems adequate to support a pistol, although, in my opinion, the velcro hook end could have been a larger area of hook velcro to make sure it doesn't release if a strain is put on it (ie: bending over or squatting down). Modification will be necessary to my Belly Band Holster to make certain magazines and pistol stay securely in the belt at all times.
