Titanic: Adventure out of Time

Okay, in order to play this game nowadays you NEED to either have an older computer 95/98, even xp worked. If you have a newer computer you need to install a virtual machine, which is a download, it doesn't take up too much space. If you look up Titanic adventure out of time and virtual machine, you will find a whole tutorial WAY better at explaining it than i am.Now onto the game! i got this when it first came out, and i had the worst time trying to complete it, i kept getting stuck in the boiler rooms, or confused about how to process film. It is a technical game, you will need to have a notebook or something to jot down notes. It's also amazing from a technical point of view, they did an amazing job at making the Titanic, the Titanic. You can even just roam the ship if you want too (they have this option , which is wonderful) you really feel lost most of the time, so i can only slightly imagine how hard it was to navigate the real thing.You may need to buy two copies of the game however, as one copy i had all those years ago had a major glitch, luckily it wasn't too expensive and the store agreed a refund. Luckily the other version worked, but i just couldn't figure it out, despite an entire notebook full of notes (you may laugh at me, that's fine).So fast forward about ten years, i had a urge to play it again, found it on here and was completely thrilled, it was just as it was all those years ago, the graphics still hold up, the game play is still intriguing and the "WHERE TO?" guy was still saying it in the amazing way he always did.I love this game, love it, but it's still so hard to win, i had to consult the internet, where thankfully, there are now helpful guides. I hate resorting to looking into walk throughs, but this game is so hard, but not so hard that it's unbeatable, it also has tons of ways it can end, which makes replay value so ...valuable (or making multiple save files so you don't have to keep re-playing the beginning all over again)

I knew I was taking a risk ordering this game because it is an older game, but I really wanted it.It looks like a great game, especially after reading the details on the packaging - I was pretty disappointed that it doesn't get along with Windows 7 and will not install.I'm going to hang onto it and perhaps someone will figure out some way to override it or make it work.I think it would be a great game for any titanic fan, but in fairness, buyers should just be aware there's a chance it won't work on newer systems.

Loved this game when I was 10 years old, I laugh now thinking about how parts used to scare me that are mundane now that I'm an adult, but the thrill of the game is still there. The only thing is you need an emulator because it will NOT work on anything older than XP. It's very simple though, you just get something like VMWare player and get XP that way, and it's ready to play as always!! So wonderful to still find it!

I think the game is a hoot, I had to find an old console that had Windows 98 to play it since the resolution required isn't supported by using the Windows partition on Windows 7

Used to have this on an old computer, Gateway I think. I've got a great little Aspire Netbook with TONS of memory but cannot get this game to load - NO WAY. Must be a tech prob. on my end - BUT if you can get the game to load it is really really really worth it. You feel as though you've actually been walking the ship!

BEST. GAME. EVER. I was obsessed with this when I was a kid. I played it for hours on end. I can't wait to do it again in my late 20's. I have a Mac so I'm going to figure out how to make this work for me and update later...

The game idea was good, but the running and loading lock up the computer or slows it to a crawl.

I got this game a few months ago. I've tried to get it to work and my husband tried to also it will not play on our new computer. I gave it a one but if I could I'd give it a zero since I can't even play it.
