Cheap and does the job
Works well for occasional use

Cheap and cheerful, but does the job.
It's. a £12 soldering iron, so good value for money. It comes with a selection of replaceable tips and some solder. I like the on-off switch, it saves you having to unplug it. The stand they give you is too small, I use one from my previous soldering iron. It does the job well enough, no complaints.

Excellent soldering iron
Excellent fast heating lightweight soldering iron with plenty of power for building electronic circuits. The on/off switch is a nice touch although mine did fall off on the first day, no bother since I am the handy kind of person who builds things with a soldering iron so I popped it back with a tiny spot of glue.Immediately I built an electronic clock kit and found the very finest tip (sub 0.5mm) was plenty hot enough and excellent for tiny components, IC sockets etc. This is the tip I used the most and in fact burned it out after a week. This was no surprise to me since the tip really is quite tiny and I realised why tips are sold in multi packs, they are high performance and need to be replaced.Back in the day when I was an apprentice soldering iron tips lasted for months or longer and could be repeatedly resurfaced with a file, not so with treated and coated tips like these.I bought several packs of tips but it was tricky understanding the part numbers so here's a few things I learned.Soldering Iron tipsSearch for 900M soldering iron tip size chart900M-T-I – Very fine point (sub 0.5mm included in this kit)900M-IS – Very fine bent over point (not included in this kit)900M-T-B – Conical round tip 0.5mm (This is the second finest tip included with this kit)

Does the job
Takes a bit of getting used too. Extremely hot temperatures sometimes make it difficult for small work.

Great for the price
If you are the occasional DIY person a bit like myself then this soldering kit is just the job. You get quite a good amount of solder and a tub of grease like substance to help the solder bond. The stand is a bit flimsy but this is nit picking as this is a fine piece of kit at a very reasonable price.
