Q: So this is a taller sight?

No it is not taller, it is a direct replacement, you will not even have to re-zero the rifle. The larger sight hole is great. Installation is really simple too.

Q: How is this any different than the mcarbo rear sight that is higher (which you really need) and costs much less? price seems extreme.

Amazon charges high seller fees that are included in our price. Also most S2K owners have no problems with the factory sight height so Kel Tec saw no reason to raise the sight height from Gen1 to Gen2. With the higher rear sight the front sight must be adjusted higher as well, and some are having issues with this.

Q: Does this work with a sling installed since the sling now bolts on from the left side?

I assume that you are referring to the sling that Kel Tec offers that attaches to the pivot point on the Sub 2000. If so, we can provide you with a longer screw that will be compatible with our rear sight and that sling loop. If you do place an order, send us a message that you will need the longer screw. Thanks

Q: Is there a Taller rear sight. Stock rear sight totally inadequate .

Kel Tec produced rear sights of two different heights for some reason. The sight that we sell on Amazon is the same height as the taller factory sight. If you have the shorter sight our sight will give you much improvement. Try and see how much room there is between the top of the sight and the handguard when the rifle is folded. If you have the taller sight there will not be much room, and with the shorter sight there will be a noticeable gap.
