Q: Is the size chart half the chest circumference measurement? Never seen chest measurements like this.

The Amazon size chart does not make sense. The mrdavis.com site uses a size chart based on height and weight. I'm 5-7, 160# and prefer small traditional although I can wear medium. The fabric is very stretchy. This is a great product.

Q: how long are these ndershirts in inches size small

For the size small, the front length is 27.2 inches. The back length is 28.7 inches.

I’d order a small. I’m 5’ 10” and 190 lbs; I ordered a medium that fits well (normally wear large).
