Vinyl Siding S Hook (2-Pack)

I couldn't figure out how to install these, posted a question on here and half the people who replied said it was one way, and the other half said it was the other. I tried both, and this is what I ended up doing. Until the manufacturer chimes in, this is what I'm going with. Package instructions are poor, show a different hook, and don't specify that the hooked edge of the strap, the end that needs to be inserted up, should face the installer. There's no youtube vid and I couldn't connect to the website on the package. I used the two larger pieces to hang a metal house number sign and it worked beautifully, however, it was impossible for me to feel or hear, on installation, whether the hook had actually hooked onto anything. I recommend using a large flat blade screwdriver to pry slightly on the siding, pushing the stainless straps up with hook facing you, giving it a tug to see whether it hooked onto the siding, and making sure the bottom of the siding is flush before hanging your object. I did bend them on my vise to compensate for the slope of the siding.

There's not much to say about this s hook mount. It works great and hold's a 30+ lbs metal star on our vinyl siding without damaging the siding.The instructions were straight forward and easy to follow, but installing the hook wasn't easy to get into place when you are 15 ft off the ground hanging onto a ladder. I found that due to the size of the star it could not be attached to the hook system before you slide the hook system into the siding. Once the hook was in place I was able to hook the star into place.I noticed that the mount wasn't very secure. The mount system wasn't going anywhere but the wind could pull the star off the wall with ease. So I took some pliers and closed the s hook around the star's mount. Once that was closed it was secured.You might want to check the s hook and make sure it holds your items securely before forgetting about it. If it looks like it might fall, then bend the S hook close.

Used these hooks to hang a mailbox. Took a few tries to understand how they go in the siding, but once I did, easy. I've had my mailbox up for 4-5 months and no problems.

Used this to hang a mailbox on my Certainteed Monogram double 5" clapboard siding as I didn't want to drill holes through the siding. If you look closely, you will notice that this is essentially the end piece of a  Malco Siding Removal Tool  which is used to pull down the lower lip when removing pieces of vinyl siding.These hooks worked perfectly.photos:-cross section view of vinyl siding showing how the pieces lock together when installed. The hook rests on the lower edge (aka buttlock). The hooks did not snap into my siding, they just rest on the edge and are easily removable.-photos of how the mailbox was mounted. I was able to attach the mailbox with the small "s" shaped hooks that are included. These hooks attached to the screw mounting holes on the back of the mailbox.

I bought these to install my mailbox on the outside of my house. The S hooks included are too small, very difficult to fit into the small holes of my mailbox. Also, it mounts the object you are hanging flush to the siding, which is not great for my mailbox because it does not allow it to open all the way. I wish they would make a version with a bend to allow you to mount opening objects.

I bought these hooks to hang up some solar lights on the side of the house. I didn't want to drill into the siding so I picked these up. I can pop them in and out fairly easy, but they hold up great once in place. So far I've had some good wind storms and haven't had one fail yet. Also important to note that they don't damage the siding in any way.

I was on the fence about ordering these due to some of the reviews on installation. I really didn’t want to drill into the siding so I thought I would give it a try. These arrived on time just as described. The back has pictures which I attempted to follow. I installed with the little lip piece facing me. It seems to be holding for now so only time will tell!

This is a great little product to hand decorations od the side of sided houses. Something like this deserves more promotion and to be in the large home improvement chains.Only thing is would be nice if it was bend and shaped a lot more like siding rather than straight so it did not stick out from the side of house as noticeably.

Personally, I found it too hard to install (and wasn't able to in the end). You have to have a lot of physical strength to force up and in between the siding. So not so good for me.

Did not work for my type of vinyl siding. I even check with some loos pieces and it will never fit... Big disappointment since they were quite expensive. I bought 2 packs and they're useless...
