Im drilling but the hole quickly fills with surrounding rope** A: I did the same thing, eventually plunging through to the other side. 5/16 bit. Instead of pulling it away and constantly clearing material just stay with it and push it through the other side. Once through, follow it with the bolt. With bolt use a drill force it through just like drill bit.
