Excellent Product!

I love this product! It has a great smell and feel to it. It's very moisturizing and light. It leaves my skin feeling smooth after thoroughly rubbing it in.

I have dryer skin and work outside all day. This aloe gel is a blessing and I use it mostly on my hands.It doesn't have any other chemicals that other gels may have and if I don't use it for a week no side effects like lip balms have been known to do).After a shower, while still partially wet I apply it to my hands, face and neck and it drys invisible but keeps my skin from drying out.Also, as it drys it leaves an invisible and undetectable layer of aloe. It cannot be felt after it dries but I can re-activate the gel that dried on my hands with a few drops of water and tell it's still there. Now I usually only use it for keeping my skin from drying out but it is also excellent with small burns or cuts too. Not as good as neosporin for cuts but better than anything else for burns, especially sun burns. It will literally take the sting away on contact and sooth sunburnt skin.Depending on the level of sunburn, it may take a lot of gel, but your skin will thank you as I thank the manufacturer (and shipper/delivery people) for this often overlooked but amazing product.Also, I think this is the only brand that is actually 100% pure aloe and no additives.It's a small and general item that I have found many uses for and appreciate the ability to have so much of it in a tube. Where any other method would be me growing the aloe plants (which takes a long time) and harvesting it as I need it. This is one of my favorite things.

Overall, I think that this is an excellent product with lots of uses -- see a couple of caveats below.I've purchased and used 8 - 10 bottles over the past 2 years or so. Mostly, I apply it all over my face and neck after shaving in the morning and am pleased with the slightly tightening and softening effect from the aloe on my 45+ year old skin. I also use it, occasionally, as a hair gel -- it provides SOME body/hold for my short hair, but it is not a substitute for the holding power of normal hair gel. Also, I've found this effective in minimizing itches from minor irritations like mosquito bites. Of course, it's fantastic for sunburn.The caveats: (1) when applying it to the body (arms, legs, hands, etc.), it can have a little bit of a sticky feel; not a big deal for me, but one of my daughters dislikes it for this reason, and (2) others have commented about "burning" their skin. One of the bottles I've used had a slightly irritating (kind of burning feel) effect on my skin that none of the bottles before or since has had. I can only speculate that, since the product had not reached its expiration date, perhaps Lily of the Desert's quality control slipped up on this one and, maybe, the pH of that particular product was a little off -- I can't say for sure. But, this experience does make me wonder if consumers whose natural pH is slightly different than mine might regularly have problems(?). The only way to know for sure is to try it yourself, but most reviewers seem to have had very good experiences with the aloe, as I have. Bottom line: if you know that you have sensitive skin, then this might not be the product for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend it for many different uses.

Had no success growing the actual plant to keep handy in the kitchen so I purchased this excellent product. Works as well as the actual plants to keep the burns from scarring. It soothes and relieves the sting and leaves no scars.

This is the only aloe I found that didn't have a single harmful ingredient and has a 100/100 Yuka rating. It was packaged well and it has a pleasant, sweet smell. The 12 oz bottle is big and I'm not sure I will be able to use this all before the expiration date. I used this for the first time one night, after a beach day with too much sun. I keep it in the refrigerator for sunburn relief. It was very sticky, (duh, I mean it's aloe!) but did absorb rather quickly. It made my skin feel very very tight but that could be from the burn. The sunburn was 100% gone by the morning. I am hooked. I hope this company stays around for a long time!

My husband uses this faithfully easy application works well we will continue to get this product. 👍🏾
