Developed by renowned furniture restorer and finisher Jeff Jewitt, these water soluble dyes outperform any we have tried. Because the dyes contain no fillers or extenders, each 1 oz. bottle makes a half gallon or more of stain, nearly twice as much as most other dyes! Packaged in resealable bottles, you can use only the amount of dye necessary for the project at hand and not have to worry about the remaining powder leaking out of a paper envelope or absorbing moisture like other powdered dyes. Perfect for new work, repairs, or restoration, these deep penetrating colors can be combined to create virtually any shade without hiding the natural features of the wood. Stained surfaces can be coated with almost any type of finish to bring out the color you've applied. These easy to use dyes come with the best mixing and application instructions we have seen. Do not store liquid dyes in metal containers. Extra Dark Walnut Dye.

fast dye Used on stairs
I used this on some 100 year old stairs that are so worn down I could not sand much after scraping decades of paint. I did not want to tear out the stairs but was looking for a different way to stain the stairs. I thought the Homestead would make a great alternative to regular stains and it has definitely worked as hoped. the dye penetrated the old wood and has lasted about one year without need for further staining. The walnut is very dark but has hid many of the old imperfections and there were no fumes coming out after application. I think this is a great option for old wood, esp stairs. I've tried it on a few other things like toddler chairs and no smells, quick drying and beautiful colors are the outcome. I highly recommend this versus other stains.

Defective walnut-
Something was clearly wrong with mine- it mixed green on the pallet- it dried brighter green on the furniture. I returned it with no help or response as to why it did this. 3rd party bull you have to pay return shipping on a defective item. Slow, painful refund-still waiting. I’ll not buy from here again-

Looks great, goes on easy and even
I bought two of these to dye a solid maple entertainment center. I only ended up using 1 package and still have some mixed dye left in a sealed jar, so a little goes a long ways. Dye was mixed with 2 quarts water as directed, and applied with a foam brush. First coat was sanded back to highlight grain, and two final coats applied. The dye is very easy to work with, and easy to get good results with. It dissolves very well (I filtered it afterward, but it doesn't appear as though it needed to be).

Works great on hard woods
I am never using stain again! This TransFast is the best dye I have used and it provides twice the value since it can do two quarts! Don't mess around with Minwax anymore. What sold it was it works beautifully on really hard woods.

Difficult, but liked
I found that trying to get the right combination color for the cabinet I was refinishing was very difficult. However, if I had to used only a single color it would be a great mixing product.

Great Product!
I bought several of the TransFast Dye power colors. I used them on some very nice projects and can not be more pleased with the outcome.
