It is packaged the same as any other deck. There are lots of tricks you can perform with the blank deck. Good choice.

Can I write permanently on these without leaving an impression or bleed through that would compromise the deck?

You can write permanently on these - it doesn't bleed through to the back face. It seems to take a little longer than regular cards to dry, though, with Sharpies.
