Won’t play first track
Love this comp. But the cd was scratched and doesn’t play the first track. Even though it was listed in vg condition.

Fila Brazillia - Brazilification (Remixes 95-99)
The ever-prolific Fila Brazillia, known for their remixes as much for their own tracks, offer us Brazilification, a collection of their remixes. And they have definitely skimmed off the top here: these tracks are gorgeous. Disc 1 starts off with Radiohead sounding slightly less paranoid with "Climbing Up the Walls" and moves to their unreleased mix of Moloko's "Lotus Eaters." The tracks blend into one another, not as much mixed as segued. And the mood is consistently mellow, even through the remix of Mellow's "Mellow," and culminating in the bleep-funk of the Orb's "Toxygene." On Disc 2, Simple Minds get their "Themes from Great Cities," turned into a suite of easygoing breaks, while Robin Jones has "Royal Rumba" turned up a notch. They transform The Egg's "Bend" into a driving funk, while their sublime mix of "Cottonwool" (by Lamb) feels soft as silk. This is the collection for you if you don't feel like spending hundreds of dollars tracking down the individual singles.

Simply Amazing
Fila Brazilia is good. I only found this out about a year ago when I started listening to them. Since then, I've been on a crash course of sorts on everything Fila Brazilia. This remix CD is simply graceful and amazing. More important, it's just plain old smart. The two guys who comprise Fila never over embellish the track they're remixing. Every sound becomes a compliment, transforming the song into something totally different. Their deftness is accompanied by an ear that is superbly tuned to what makes an environment burst with life, transcending a band and its music into something more than just a CD playing on a player. This music actually makes you think and run through a course of what could have beens in your mind. I love this CD. I guarantee you will love it too.

Would have been on one CD
Brazilification is somewhat of a mixed bag. Fila is a bit of a critics' favorite, and certainly some tracks show why. The sound ranges from exellent chill-out techno of Electric Orange-meets-Orb on the better songs to unengaging repetitiveness on others, dragged down by a dry mix. On the good tracks, the trippy ambient feel is not lost to a boring drum loop.Strangely enough the Orb remix is not one of the better tracks (looping the doppler-shifted car horn from the original gets very annoying). The album starts strong with Climbing Up Walls, with Fila being smart enough to leave Thom Yorke's vocals, which on this song would song good a-capella, intact. But the rest of the first CD is uneven, the second CD being definitely the better half.

Chill and mellow out with this CD
I am not a big "electronica" fan, but this stuff is good. Great to sit and chill to, great to have deep conversations over. Sometimes, I tend to find electronica a bit abrasive on the nerves with all of the...well, electronic effects. However, Fila Brazilia flooooooows with this CD. The best way to describe it is to picture chocolate melting inside your brain, and oozing through each and every channel...it feels delicious, doesn't it? Now sit down with Fila Brazilia and enjoy that sensation.

Excellent
A double CD showcasing some of Fila brazilias best remixes. Truly excellent CD, chilled out to perfection most of the time. Worth getting if only for the fabulous remixes of Radiohead and Moloko.

An absolute classic
Brazilification truly is worthy of a 5 star review. I would recommend this double album to fans of any genre of music.1995-1999 was a golden era for the Fila Brazilia boys during which time they released a host of classic funky chill out records. This release though sees them in remix mode.Back in the heady late 90's few singles were released without a remix amongst the b-sides. Much of these were fillers, what Fila Brazilia seemed to have mastered though was to create definitive versions. Their remix of Lamb's Cotton Wool presented here for example, is far superior to the original, I have to say the same about Radiohead's Climbing The Walls too. There are many other examples I could mention but I recommend buying this and finding out for yourself!Another stand out feature here well worth a mention is the mix. The album works beautifully as a whole and just flows and flows, each track seamlessly bleeding into the next. This is spacious, heady stuff and as funky and groovy a record as you're ever likely to hear. One half of Fila Brazilia is still releasing records under the moniker of The Cutler, check out his record the Best Things in Life Aren't Things to see what he's up to these days, still pretty damn funky!

Awesome funked up remixes.
I just love it. I have a broad range of tastes and this captures quite a lot of them in a huge cooking pot of funked up remixes. Love it. My go to at the moment. Timeless.

They'll go far
I'm 20 years behind the times as usual so this is all new to me. Clever and beautifully recorded, this is very interesting and deserves to be heard on good HiFi
