They can reduce the risk and severity of injury by providing cut resistance that slows and stops the running chain for operators when accidental contacts happened. Our chainsaw chaps feature great meterial,a proper side pocket with snap closure, adjustble straps with standard buckles, adjustbale waist sizes and folding waistband with aligned buttons.The length of the pants can short 2 inches by folding waistband down and pressing those buttons in.

If you're on the fence between chaps and pants, note that chaps are easier to fit different body sizes and they are also easier to put on then full pants. The chaps are not too heavy buy fairly weighty which you would expect with 8 layers of protection. My only complaint, and this is not restricted to this manufacturer, is the tendency to use plastic fastening clips. I think a $50 upgrade to include metals fasteners would be a selling feature as I know that within a few years these clips will start to break and I'll have to invest money in real metal clips.
