having just started a new hobby - this lovely box of tools are just the thing to get started with. The tools are quite attractive and seem simple enough to use - and of course the nice wood box to store them in is most attractive - wow said attractive twice- Well, the entire kit is attractive! love this item for sure.

This was sent as a gift. The recipient said the tools were very nice and seemed to of great quality. The wooden box seemed extremely well made as were all of the tools. So far they have worked very well.

Tool said is great. They do exactly what they're supposed to. They look amazing and cut perfectly. The only issue I have is that the wires that came with the set are not thick enough for a larger trunk. My trunk is about a inch in diameter and The Wire is not strong enough to shape the main trunk

Bought as a starter bonsai kit. The concave cutters and wire cutters are holding up ok. The butterfly and smaller scissors are terrible. You can see they are cheaply fastened with some weird copper washer compared to the concave, which causes them to not align for cutting. The butterfly shears pinch you when cutting which has rendered them useless. The wire and other tools are good extras and the case was ok as a gift box. I do have to clean and oil them with each use. I just wish all of the tools were made of the same quality. I feel like I got “refurbished” poor quality scissors. RESOLUTION: vendor offered me a full refund promptly. I appreciate their integrity as this set missed quality control.

As a blacksmith, I am used to working with "carbon steel" as they call it, while wearing leather gloves. I don't like the rough feel of these tools to bare hands, although it does provide a better grip. The feel of the scissors, when opening and closing them as you would when using them for pruning, has a very rough, grating action - which is not even. By that, I mean there is an area where the scissor blades catch and take a bit more force in order to close. Even in other areas of the blades, it feels very gritty. I am sending these back and buying higher-quality tools.It's too bad they don't sell just the box with the foam cut-outs - the box is by far the best item in the tool set.
