Samson: The Piranha Who Went to Dinner

This is a wonderful, fascinating
This is a wonderful, fascinating, adventurous book for children. I am 10 years old, and love Samson! The illustrations add lots of enjoyment and help you set the scene for the story. Samson is a piranha, and it's funny to think about a piranha who actually has good taste and loves fancy food. Overall, I think Samson has a very good moral which is - never judge someone without getting to know them. I strongly do recommend this to any fan of children's books.

Mr. Bently at his finest.
I absolutely love this book, probably just the same as my daughters. The author came to Logan Hocking County District Library (Laurelville Branch) and read it to the kids and adults alike. He then had a question and answer session, a book signing as well as a photo op with the kids. The book was great and it was an absolute pleasure getting to meet Mr. Bently.

This book is so funny. We have had it for a long while now, and all three kids still want it every night. The author's previous Penguin book is still a smash hit here too. I would highly recommend both books

Clever story, adorable art!
I received a prepub of this book several months ago, and will be ordering the hardcover now that it's available, as my 2-yo nephew can't get enough of it! He has it memorized and does (dramatic) "readings" of Samson for anyone who will listen. This is an original, clever, and fun story with adorable art; the page layout is dramatic and engaging for young readers, and introduces just enough unusual words to be both different for adults who read aloud to kids and exciting for those kids learning new vocab. Great to see childrens' books about less popular or conventionally "cute" animals, too! I will definitely be keeping my eye on this author/artist!

Fun and well-illustrated kids' story about not fitting in
This has become a favorite bedtime story for my preschooler. She gets a kick out of Samson's silly disguises and is happy when things finally start turning around for him. For my part, I get to appreciate the beautiful artwork and whimsical details. (Best of all is the fish family who has no interest beyond sitting on couches and watching another fish on TV.)
