Talking Vortex Bank - Save Loose Coins and Ask Questions Hearing Great Answers

I ordered 2. One worked, one didn't, so have to return that one. I think the kids will enjoy it - kind of like when we had the old 8 ball that answered questions.

I was looking for something unusual for the kids this Christmas and I saw this and took a gamble on it based on the reviews. I'm glad that I did! It is pretty neat.Basically, it is like those coin donation funnels that you see in the mall sometimes, where you drop a quarter in the funnel and it swirls around for 20-30 seconds and slowly circles the drain until it finally falls in to the center. Of course, this one is much smaller, and that is what I was worried about - but it is really still very cool.Even though it is smaller than the gigantic, gargantuan mall-sized models, it is still able to keep the quarter (or coin of your choice) spinning for quite a while before it drops into the center and becomes stored in your new "piggy bank."But wait - there's more!Someone decided to add Magic Eight Ball to the mix. Just add a few AA batteries and something magical happens. When you drop your coin into the Talking Vortex Bank, it triggers a switch and there are question mark buttons that appear around the sides of the Vortex. While the coin is spinning down the Vortex, you are supposed to ask a yes or no question. Pretty much any question that you would ask a Magic Eight Ball is a good question for the Talking Vortex Bank.The answers vary from yes to no and everything in between. Answers like (but not exactly like) "It seems likely" or "It is decidedly so!" or "It doesn't look likely." or "Things are cloudy right now, ask again later" are spoken by the Talking Vortex Bank in answer to your yes or no question.I did almost knock one star off of the review because so far, the Talking Vortex Bank has had a spotty track record of getting the answers right. It has been wrong about several questions, like "Will we win the lottery this weekend?" It said YES but we did not win. So I think there could be a problem with the answers. But otherwise this is a great deal of fun. We are already using the Talking Vortex Bank to help us with our retirement investments and we plan to use it to help us vote in 2020 - so there's a lot to look forward to over the next couple of years. Everyone should have one of these!

Son loves his tornado bank! The money spirals just like a real tornado and when the money hits the bottom the toy goes off and and answers your question..just like a wishing well. Very well made..very happy with it and fun for everyone
