Review: A rusk for dipping or snacking - Rusk, as you may know, is thrice-baked bread. Once to have it rise, once to toast the crust, and once after it has been sliced to crisp it the rest of the way through. This is like thrice-baked cake. It is very light and crispy, and has the flavor that you ordinarily get from the browned part of the cake that was in contact with the pan - an additionally has a mildly sweet flavor with notes of vanilla. You could compare it a bit to biscotti in profile and use, but it is far less dense than that. I find it delightful, and more importantly novel, I don't think I've tried something quite like this before. It dips well in tea or coffee, though it soaks much more quickly than biscotti does, I prefer it on its own. One or two slices constitutes a snack. It isn't too rich, being less sweet than most true cake, which means it makes for a nice afternoon treat. It was well received in the household, to the degree that nearly half the box was gone in a day and it had to be relocated to a less tempting location. I like it myself and intend to try more cake rusk in the future. I would definitely recommend it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Product picture and description calls this out as 1/2 milk and 1/2 coffee flavor.  I got mine, all milk flavor, what's up with that?**
A: I don’t find it in the product description. It just says it is great with tea or coffee.

**Q: It says it has eggs and milk in it.  How long will it stay fresh in the delivery truck till it gets delivered to me?**
A: These are a crispy zwieback cookie, and freshness (spoilage) in the delivery truck should not be an issue. I purchased several boxes of these as a treat for myself last December, and I just recently unsealed the plastic wrap on the last box. They were still crispy and fresh when I opened the box eight months after delivery. There is also a "Best By" date on the box, which in my case said October 5, 2021. I would not be concerned about spoilage occurring during the delivery.

A: They are a regular cake made with milk . Then they are sliced and put back in the oven and made into rusks .

Love these! Every single one arrived broken. But they are still dunkable and taste great. Packing should be better. First had them in So. Africa.... so good. Hard to find. Thank you Amazon for carrying them.
