Straight gauge spokes are easier to deal with when building a wheel because they don't twist as much when you turn the nipples. Swaged spokes make a better wheel because they distribute tension more evenly in the wheel.These spokes are particularly thin in the middle making them extra twisty but resulting in an extra well-balanced wheel. Just do what Jobst Brandt says and give these an extra quarter turn and then back each adjustment to let the twist out.I use these spokes for all my builds.
