Need a clip for your HOTAS base? Look no further!
I'll confess that I don't use this for a microphone...actually using it to secure my custom HOTAS (that's a fancy acronym for an expensive flight stick controller set) to my desk. See, I have the throttle and stick screwed into a flat OSB sheet, which has feet mounted to it but still moves a bit during usage. This well made clamp serves as the solitary anchor, and I really appreciate the soft plastic cup on the end of the adjustment screw. This is the part that hits my desk directly, and won't scratch it thanks to this nice feature.Works like a charm, and comes in its own nice looking bag. Very solid and reassuring clamp--looks like I'll get many years of use from this.

Money Very Well Spent.
This arrived today. Well-constructed and exactly what I need. Easy to "install." Just match up the adjustable screw with the indentation on the lamp's little tailpiece. You can't see the alignment so have to fiddle with it a bit but the "tell" is when the screw can be screwed ALL the way in. This will, I believe, make complete sense once you have lamp and replacement clamp in hand. It took some figuring for me because I am using this lamp for the first time and there was no accompanying clamp. If you are replacing a previously installed clamp, it will be far more obvious. Assuming it was installed correctly to begin with. If not, you now know where you went astray.I can't personally speak to the durability of the item but based upon the enthusiastic comments to my posted question about what people think after a year of ownership, and my own inspection of the clamp, I have no concerns. Also, even though I don't have Prime, it only took two days from when I ordered it until USPS made the delivery. Caringly packaged, including a nifty little velveteen drawstring bag which I shall happily repurpose. If you're trying to make up your mind..just go ahead and buy it. I don't see how you could be disappointed.

Solid body, poor quality ancillary parts, customer service...hasn't followed through
I bought this clamp for a normal swing arm table lamp. When I received it, as the pictures show, with the wrapping materials behind it still, part of the plastic tightening screw was broken. Not clear in that picture, but obvious in the other picture--which i took a few minutes after the first, after I'd clamped it where i expected to put it--that bar for tightening the clamp is bent.12/9/2018: I ordered it.12/15/2018: I opened it and put it in place. This is the date of those pictures.12/15/ 2018: I emailed descrbing the problems.12/15/2018: HHP responded, asking if I could send pictures of the clamp.12/22/2018: I sent pictures of the clamp.12/22/2018: HHP wrote back, suggesting that it looks defective. They said I could return it and they would send me a complimentary replacement.12/27/2018: Amazon emailed me to let me know that my refund had been processed.1/12/2019: I messaged HHP via Amazon to follow up, indicating that the refund had been processed and asking for an update about when i could expect the replacement.1/25/2019: Still no reply, and no replacement yet, as far as i have noticed. Writing this review now.The metal body on this thing is awesome--solid and weighty. The three or four other parts--the securing screw with the plastic handle, the clamp screw with the metal bar for tightening the clamp--those things seem to be much less durable.HHP's customer service seemed awesome--super responsive, very considerate, and in it to provide their customers with a product that they'd want--right up until they stopped responding and didn't send a replacement--as far as i know.Maybe my request got lost in the end of year/new year shuffle.I'll follow up again.

Fixed my broken magnifying light base.
Fixed my broken magnifying light base with this base. The old base was thick plastic and kept breaking. I kept gluing it back together, until I found this base. It is made from a sturdy feeling metal and holds the lamp securely. It is much easier to tighten this clamp down when compared with the original plastic base. The plastic base clamp did not travel far enough to reach the bottom of my desk, and I had to use a piece of 1x2 wood to make up the difference. This clamp tightens all the way to the bottom of the desk. and could go farther if needed. Very happy with this purchase.

Excellent product but plush wrapping needlessly raises price
Sturdy enough for light-weight lamps, nicely finished, well-machined metal, and properly padded to protect furniture. Did not award five stars because it's not like this is a luxury item to warrant a velvet drawstring pouch, and I obviously ended up paying for such overhead.

Pricey, but works really well
Just got this to replace the broken plastic piece of junk supplied with the swing arm lamp that I have. This thing is probably more expensive than it needs to be, but it is very good quality. Buy once, cry once. Since I just got it, I assume at this point that it will last for a long time given the build quality and strength. I would definitely recommend it and I would buy it again if I needed another one.

Great design
I’ve been looking for a long time for a strong metal clamp for my lamp, that didn’t look like it belonged in a workshop. I’m very impressed with this clamp; it is all one piece of metal, and looks sharp on my desk. And best of all, my very heavy architect lamp is absolutely secure and I no longer have to worry that I’ll walk in to my office and find my lamp on the floor. Thank you for a quality product.

It... Clamps good, I guess?
It does what it's supposed to do. I am using it to support a boom with a fairly heavy condenser mic and it doesn't sag. It needs less overhang than my previous clamp and has a toggle on the screw arm to get closer to a table leg or whatever. It could be a couple bucks cheaper, but I'm happy with it nonetheless.
