Save the Day (LEGO DC Superheroes: Comic Reader)

Got this for my 7-year-old and he hasn't read it yet but it's a little more challenging than I expected. The pictures look good and it looks like a fun (pretty simple plot) read for kids, but the words could be a little complex for beginning readers. I think my son will enjoy it but it's definitely not an "easy" read. I'll probably read it with him first. I added pics of some of the pages to give folks a sense of what it's like.

I bought our first copy for my 4yo daughter, who is on a huge superhero kick right now, and for whom it's been challenging to find age-appropriate material with her favorites (Superman and Wonder Woman). This comic reader was an instant hit, with its bold pictures and easily-followed stories it perfectly bridged the gap between picture book and comic book. We liked it so much that when she insisted on a superhero birthday party, I bought another 20 as party favors. Many of the parents (me included) enjoyed the fun humor, and it was a much better gift than candy. Here's to hoping for many more in this series!

I guess it is obvious that I did not purchase this for myself loll My kids love this book. The reason I love it is because it's very interactive, you can start talking to your kid about all the pictures and materials in this book which makes it more exciting for them.

The book has good humour and my toddler loves the way Batman says " I wanted to save the day". The book also clearly introduces some villains.

My husband's family has a Christmas tradition where Santa always leaves them a comic book in their stocking. I wanted to try to carry this on with our kids and was looking for a good "comic" type option for my 5 year old who doesn't read yet. He LOVES this book. I think it also helps that he really loved the Lego Movie, so the characters being the Lego version helps a bit, but he has read it more than any other book and his little sister enjoys it as well.

My five-year old son loves these LEGO comics. He's pretty much obsessed with the movie. The story in the comic makes sense and moves along quickly. I especially like that the Batman in the comic has some of the same personality quirks that the Batman in the movie has (i.e., he's a bit whiny and conceited). It's entertaining. Overall, my kid couldn't be happier with this book. So I am happy, too.

I wasn't happy with this purchase because the books are not labeled appropriately for the readers, the labels say begginers but this is not a begginers reading book. Theres lots of words on the pages and not very easy for kids to read at all, my son is a 2.0 AR reader and he couldnt read this book because the level is that of a kid who can read with minimal help. Just watch the levels of the books because they are for efficient readers and i wouldn't recommend for begginers.

Great comic reader. Our 5-year-old son loves it (to the point that he sneaks it in bed and reads it with a flashlight). He's very into Legos and Batman, so this is right up his alley. It's written in a legit comic book format, not a picture book.

I bought this for my 4 year old who loves Lego Batman. His 7 year old brother read through the comic in under half an hour. Both of them loved it. It is great having child friendly Batman stories. Instead of Batman saying stuff like "I'm Batman"' he says things "I'm Awsome" or "I plan to be as awsome today as I was yesterday". Perfect for kids.

This is another lovely book for lego mad kids that are not over keen on reading. My son loves them and has really helped with his reading.

I am a year 1 teacher. During guided reading I have a group independently reading books to do with our topic. The children of all abilites love this book- they often fight over it!Fantastic words and comical pictures.

ich habe dieses comic für meinen 9-jährigen sohn bestellt. hatte erst zweifel, da mein englisch selbst nicht das beste ist. der kauf hat sich in jedem fall gelohnt. das comic ist leicht verständlich. ich lese vor und wir übersetzten zusammen, durch die bilder ist dies leichter als gedacht. mein sohn war nach den ersten paar seiten stolz wie oscar und hat am nächsten tag gleich seiner englischlehrerin davon erzählt. sehr gute motivation!
