Door Jamb Pro 24" OD - Door Frame Reinforcement Strike Plate; Fits 1 3/4" Thick Entry Doors

I installed this today and am impressed with how simple the installation went. It came with 3.5" screws but I had some heavier 5" screws that I used instead. The holes are tapered for a counter-sunk screw finish. The end result looks good and after I put some touch up paint on the screw heads I doubt anyone will notice it's there. I did not try to kick my door in but I expect it will definitely make that effort much more difficult to do.

Installed pro door jamb was a snap.aligned with some tape.predrilled holes.put new screws in jamb.and done.15 minutes.strong and secure.even got comments from visitors.how solid and goodlooking.

I'm only giving it 4 stars because the plate came bent. No damage to the delivery box so I assume it was bent before it went into the box and should not have been shipped. I easily bent the bar back straight. Took me less than 10 minutes to install by myself and I'm a 50 year old woman. Simple..SIMPLE installation! Hoping that the durability of the product never gets tested but I do feel my home is a bit more secure.

Easily bends with even moderate pressure. We returned product.

Pricey for what you get. Frame quality is ok. However, screws included with it are cheap and break easily; I recommend replacing them with 3" size 10 screws from your local hardware store.

Even though I had to mortise the door jamb, it was time and effort well spent. Looks great and it adds safety as well as peace of mind.

Outstanding product and quality. This is cold rolled steel that's much tougher than stamped mild steel. This makes your front door much more secure than two small screws through the standard door jamb on almost every house. This should be standard on any home today.

Just installed this on my entry door. I'm going to order more of them for ALL of my doors. I did not use the long screws that came with this. I chose to use much heavier hardened 3 inch deck screws with the star drive head from Home Depot. My door had enough gap so I also put a large strike plate from Home Depot over it, and drilled some holes to match the two. This doesn't have a bend in it like the normal strike plate but would probably work ok by itself. With 3 inch screws nobody is kicking in your door. I suggest using this with a steel door and reinforce your door with Prime-Line Products U 10539 lock and door reinforcer. With a little effort you can harden your doors from criminals.
