This turquoise is from the Sleeping Beauty Mine, which is located in Arizona. Commercial mining began in the early 1900's; however, the mine was recently closed in 2012, making this turquoise quite rare. The primary turquoise deposits from the Sleeping Beauty Mine are characterized as having a pure sky blue color which shows very little to no veining or webbing. The material size is considered to be medium to fine, sand-sized particles, ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters (between sieves #10 - #60) - perfect for large and small voids in your woodworking projects. This NATURAL turquoise is sold in 1/2 ounce units. This product is NOT man-made, mixed with resin, or stabilized.
