If you are on the fence, you need to try it! - I was highly skeptical about this pencil grip, but went ahead and purchased it out of desperation. If you have a child that needs help with pencil placement you need this pencil grip. Within a week of using it, my daughter has defaulted to the correct pencil placement without even realizing it. She was even amazed herself. It is a fun tool to use for kids and it is EXTREMELY effective. There is only one way to hold this grip...and it is the correct way. Kids won't be chewing on it or biting it. The actual pencil (it is a mechanical pencil) is permanently attached to the grip and replacement leads are included with the package. We used one entire lead before reverting back to a regular pencil (as a test) to see how my daughter's placement would be. As I've said, this grip corrected my daughter's problem (without any tears) and actually quite to our delight! Yes, it is expensive, but so so worth it! However, it is not practical for preschool age children. A push top pencil breaks easily since they are beginners.
