The only reasons I gave this mug two stars instead of one are because: It looks good, and it feels nice to hold; the color is gorgeous, and I imagine it's very comfortable to hold for extended periods of time.That said, other than aesthetics...the lack of an opening or drinking spout in the lid makes this travel mug virtually useless as a travel mug; it is essentially a fancy-looking thermos (which, if I had wanted a thermos, I'd have purchased a thermos). In any event, I spent a great deal of time examining the lid before starting the return process. I was totally befuddled that someone would make a, "travel mug" that's so impractical. Can you imagine driving to work in the morning with this mug? Having to actually screw the top off and drink from it that way? And then screw the top back on? I don't know what you can imagine, but I can imagine hot coffee spilt all over a nice suit or completely ruined vehicle upholstery - or BOTH.It's almost as if the designers were so pleased with themselves for incorporating a, hidden, built-in carrying handle that they completely forgot to add a drinking spout...and instead of scrapping what came off of the assembly line OR just designing new, PRACTICAL lids, they went ahead with sales and hoped that no one would notice.I'm not exactly saying, "Don't buy this mug." Maybe you just need something to get your beverages from Point A to Point B, and if that's the case, then I don't see any reason why this mug shouldn't serve that purpose. However, if you use travel mugs like I use travel mugs (you know, to drink your beverage WHILE TRAVELING), then please save yourselves the time, the money, the disappointment and the inconvenience of returning it, and think twice about purchasing this product.
