Manhattan Portage Deluxe Computer Bag

I really like this bag and have been using it to carry around my files and laptop for work. It's very well constructed and has a simple and attractive design. The wide strap is comfortable, too. A few small issues, though. I got the grey one, but it's more of an grey-olive color. I like it and don't mind, but it's definitely not a true grey. The large red logo/patch on the front cover just doesn't "match" the bag. I was able to take this off by snipping a few of the threads holding it on; you can't tell that a patch had been there. Finally: when left unlatched, the plastic buckles bounce and hit against the bottom of the bag, causing an annoying tapping. If wanting to leave open, you can wrap the cover backwards and snap it in the back to prevent this. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Great bags. I add a new one to my collection every year. Durable and functional super-utility bags to carry laptops and all the business/school gear you need. This bag in particular has a padded laptop slot that has protected my computer from blows that would have destroyed it if it were in any other bag. Love MP.

This is the laptop bag I knew MP could make. My main bag for years was a simple DJ bag that had everything I wanted back then: a big cargo area, a zip compartment to prevent small things from falling out, and a storm flap to keep things reasonably dry. Now I need to carry a laptop at all times because of work. The DJ and other MP models I remembered were too spartan and offered no laptop protection, so I started looking at other types of bags. I bought- and returned- a Crumpler bag and a Mission bag for various reasons (velcro too loud, malfunctioning zippers, etc). I wished the DJ could have a bit more room, be a bit more sturdy, have a few extra compartments including a padded one for a laptop, and some organizer pockets to keep essentials like pens and jump drives handy. I went to the MP site on a whim and discovered new models with new features, and the Deluxe Computer Bag had all the upgrades I was looking for. I've had it for a week now and know it's a keeper. The one thing I would wish for is a handle so I could carry it like a brief- then it truly would be perfect.

I like it a lot, reminiscent of High School (for you NYC folks). I do have one small grip, and it's the fact that the main zippered pocket is just that... a big zippered pocket... it makes it hard to oranize all your smaller crap. I kind of knew that going into it, and it wasn't a deal breaker, but keep this in mind, just in case you're looking for a bag with lots of smaller pockets. This bag also does have a few small sleeve style pockets on the front side to hold your pens, phone, ID, but that's about it! It's a basic no frills bag!

Fantastic bag. Buy it! I transport an iPad and/or laptop each day along with a portfolio, keys, wallet, phone, etc. This is a great bag that logically places your required EDC items in logical places that are easy to access. I own two and consistently refer my business peers to Manhattan Portage.

Beware: this bag does not have padding to protect the corners of your laptop. Mine slipped off my shoulder today and the corner of my new MacBook Pro hit the ground and completely died. Thankfully I have AppleCare, and I’ll be buying a new laptop sleeve with protection around every side

I love this bag. Actually I love all of my MP bags. They are great quality and very functional. I wish I didn't have to purchase the shoulder pad separately, but definitely recommend the purchase if you have long walks through airports like I do.
