A 9v battery will last you a few days with this depending on how much your dog barks. It does work if you give it time even on the most stubborn dogs. I have read, "my dog still barks with these devices", well it isn't a "flip a switch and your pooch is a Eukanuba tournament champ/ K-9 unit trained" device. It is a deterrant. And your dog might not understand what the HF sound emitted is at first but it does hear it and knows it. After enough time (maybe up to a few days) it will give in and know that every time it barks, same irritating noise is emitted. Also, it does propagate through walls and into your neighbors apartment where their large dogs will hear it when they bark. Better nights sleep, more peace and quiet, all in a little box. I would recommend a 9v power supply unit (just like a laptop computer cord) be used with the appropriate electrical considerations and wiring so that you don't have to replace the battery if you're using this device indoors and near an electrical outlet if possible.

It seems to have worked. One of my dogs tends to bark at everybody walking or bicycling past our house and any deer, turkey, or rabbit visiting the field across the street. I turned it on for only two days and her barking has been greatly curtailed. The downsides: my non-barking dog gets freaked out by it and loud cars set it off even though the road is well over 30 feet away. To remedy the last, I turned it down to the 10 foot range.I think I will have to use it as a refresher now and then. When outside with the dogs, I turn it on just when they don't stop barking with a command of "enough." As with any tool, I always recommend training in conjunction. In this case, I don't want to turn off the barking completely as part of what a dog does is work as an alert system. But I do expect that when I say "enough", they quiet. Don't forget to praise when the dog stops barking.

At first it worked great but when the battery wore out, the next battery was sucked dry within 2 days. Tried a different new battery and that one was sucked dry within 2 days also. Purchased a 2nd HK EASY thinking the first was faulty and it did not stop the dogs from barking. I thought I had found something that stopped my dogs from barking. . . but no.

I was a little hesitant to buy this... Some of the reviews just seemed "weird", if that makes sense. Nonetheless, I gave it a try. Arrived promptly, looks exactly as described. I noticed results instantly when I turned it on. My new neighbors dog is permanently in the backyard, and was known to bark for literally an hour or more non stop sometimes, all day, every day. The He was also barking in the direction of my house, pretty sure he wasn't amused with my cats. As soon as I turned it on, the barking became halting and hesitant. After a day or two, he had stopped barking in our direction completely, and only very softly and rarely barks away from us. It went from incessant barking about 20 hours a day, to only the rarest and most barely noticeable barking. We can spend time in our backyard again without the constant nuisance barking that was becoming the norm. If anyone is considering buying this thing, I very seriously recommend it!

My parents share a chain link fence with their neighbors who have three dogs. A psychotic dashhound and two larger mutts. Often their family members bring more dogs over for a total of FIVE dogs next door barking incessantly My parents have not been able to enjoy their backyard for a year. I purchased this for them thinking if it doesn't work then hey, I'm only out 30 bucks. This was the BEST purchase EVER!!! It works on all the dogs! We put it on a little pedestal at dog height by the fence. It only emits a short frequency when they bark. If they are quiet the dogs can enjoy their backyard in peace. My dog (who does not bark like a deranged psycho) was behind the device was not effected by it. I think they have to be in front of the device and within 25 feet. Everyone can enjoy their backyard now. I would recommend this to anyone.

We have a 5 1/2 month old Japanese Spitz and for her this product kind of worked for a couple weeks then she just ignored it. It also slightly deterred the neighbor's dog for a short time only to be fullly ignored. Buy only through Amazon Prime so if it does not work, your return and refund will be hassle free.

I just got this today but it's already working. I ended up having to use level 2 as level 1 was too low. After his first bark you could see him tilt his head. He has still barked a little but MUCH less and MUCH quieter barks. He's even started to bark less in the house already. We have an 11 pound Malti-poo who thinks he has to bark at every noise and thing outside the house. We were about to use a static collar a friend gave us but decided to give this a shot. Hoping it continues to work as we have a baby on the way and we're hoping to fix his barking before then and this seems like it will be the solution. So happy and best $40 I've spent recently.

Two neighbors dogs won't stop barking. It didn't effect one at all. But one hasn't barked much since we got this. But the one that is still barking is the much louder, more obnoxious one. So this was a waste of our money.
