Instructions for changing rope's length (see the pic as well): 1) Unscrew the top of the handle (that the rope enters) from the grip portion of the handle. Set grip portion aside and you'll see end of rope with a black plastic fitting. 2) The black plastic fitting is basically an outer sleeve (the widest section) that compresses onto an inner crimping sleeve (which only has a narrow neck showing). If you firmly grip the wider outer sleeve section with thumb/index/middle fingers of one hand while (vigorously) wiggling the lengthy section of rope TOWARDS the wide sleeve, you will ultimately dislodge the narrow neck and its connected inner sleeve from within the outer sleeve. 3) Move the inner sleeve to your desired location for shortening/lengthening the rope, press the outer sleeve back onto the inner sleeve to crimp it in place, and reassemble the handle. Note: You may, or may not, want to cut any excess rope off before reassembly. Cutting the excess is obviously permanent/irreversible, but leaving too much excess in the handle could create some unwanted noise/scraping or perhaps slightly hinder the rope's free rotation.
