It gives an ideal perspective on how people must portray themselves in the business world but then can easily take off this "mask" when they return to their "normal life". This is the same as people of all ethnic backgrounds who have one way of speaking when at work but an entirely different way of speaking when at home.

The implication, so beautifully painted by Ms. Cooper, is that minorities in America must assume a different identity when they work in today's business climate.
