Yitchen Horn Cleat Cheese Board Tray Platter [16.5" x 7"]

The cheeseboard was delivered with one of the handles broken off.

When this arrived, one of the cleats was off and the other was loose. The wood does not appear to have been treated by anything, so I wouldn't put cheese or anything else edible on it unless you'd like slivers of wood in your mouth.

I ordered this cheese board for a nautical event on the water. I had it sent to my son as I did not want to travel with the item and it was going to be used in his hometown location. I saw it this weekend and was I ever disappointed. The wood is very light, almost like a balsa wood type feel, not a heavy cheese board feel. The screws were stripped on one of the cleats, so it was merely used for decoration and not able to be passed with the cleats. The cleats wriggled and were not staple in their drilling holes.I packaged it up and put it within my hard case suitcase to see if I could glue it or fix it somehow when I got home. I just opened my suitcase and the cleats were all off and the screws were laying around in the suitcase. Horrible quality and even though it says, "Made in China," I have seen China do a better job.

This is a great little board for appetizers and small plates, which makes it perfect for entertaining. The handles are surprisingly useful for taking some cheese and crackers from the kitchen counter to the table.I have a nautical theme going in my house and always look for rustic kitchen pieces, so this makes a great compliment to the vibe of my kitchen. The horn cleats are quite unique and I've recieved a few compliments on them already.I would recommend giving the board a quick wipe down, and rubbing a coat of mineral oil to properly treat the wood.

Update: ordered a 2nd time hoping that 1st broken order was an anomaly. 2nd order arrived broken, same as the first. Cleats do not stay screwed into the soft wood. This product is junk.Was delivered broken. One of the cleats was off the board. tried screwing back in but screw holes were stripped. Returning.I had bought one of these very similar from a retailer in my hometown that is sturdy and nice but couldn't find it again. This is nothing close.I paid the extra expedited next day shipping and now I'm out that extra money.

Board delivered with handles almost completely unscrewed and barely attached. Tried screwing back in to avoid hassle of getting a replacement only to find that the screws were too short in the first place to securely attach the handles to the board.

Love the size and quality exactly what I wanted!
