It won't hurt if it doesn't help.

I haven't had the chance to use them in an actual emergency situation yet, I'm very impressed with the product. The quality seems excellent, and the fact that it's a product made in the USA definitely adds to my confidence. I bought a set of 4 units, to be prepared for any possible scenario. I feel much more secure knowing that I have the TRACGRABBER in my car, in case I find myself in a situation where I need help getting unstuck. This review represents my personal opinion and experience with this product. They work, but...

They work well, and then I could not get them off, mud compacted in the webbing belts ring lock / unlock, so I had to cut the webbing on both blocks and saw no way fix. So that's a fault in the system, big fault. Otherwise they work great, although as a 'single use' item, kinda pricey.

Got me out of trouble twice

On two occasions this winter I had a similar event happen. Both were in minor amounts of snow but snowpacked/icy and very slick. Both were downhill sloped roads with an angle to the road sloping to an outside turn. I was going very slow but slid off the road and onto the grass. Due to the side slope of the hill any movement of the tires uphill or downhill made me slide further into the grass. One was 3 feet from a steep dropoff. I installed the TracGrabber to both front tires and exited the situation easily. They are easy to install and a little more difficult to remove because the velcro holds firmly. I need some tool to reach through the spoke of the wheel to peel back the velcro through the spokes.I'm buying a set for all of my family members this Christmas.

Mud yes. Snow No.

This is the 2nd pair of these I have bought. After my 1st were stolen. They worked amazing in soft mud helping a 2wd car get free over a short distance.Used them in snow over a mile or two. Was impossible to remove one and had to cut the strap. The other was lost and flew off. I’d recommend something else for snow.

Did Not Work For My RWD Mustang In Snow.

I really wanted this product to work.I have 2002 Mustang which I park on the street in town. I live in Pennsylvania. The street is surface is tar and chip, over asphalt, and it is well maintained. When it snows, it normally takes me about 2 hours to dig myself out, even if there is only 4 inches.I bought these in the best hopes that they would get me "unstuck" as the claim states, but in my situation, they simply did not work.Mustangs are notoriously bad for winter weather, so my expectations were low, but I was at least hoping the would help in some capacity. They did not. In fact, I feel they had the opposite effect, and ironically got me more stuck, by digging holes into the road.Perhaps they would work with a FWD vehicle, or a heaver RWD vehicle, but I can't say for certain.PRO's:- Innovative- Made in America- Easy To Put OnCON's- Did Not Work For Me.- Over Priced - although the quality of appearance, is initially good, I feel a fair price would be more around $30. (let's face it, it's a strap and a piece of rubber.)- Durability - I would be surprised if someone got more than 10 uses out of these. (I've included a picture of what mine look like after one use.)- Difficult To Remove - once used, the strap gets REALLY tight, and the Velcro that holds it in place kinda gets in the way of removing it. You would be hard pressed to remove one of these by hand, without the use of a tool, like some forceps. (I used needle nose pliers)- It Feels Damaging to the Vehicle - Aside from all the stones and debris that gets tossed up and hitting the paint, it feels like it wrecks havoc on the rear suspension.Final Thoughts: I hate to rip it apart like this, because I'm sure the inventor/company had the best intentions in mind when developing the product, but in my situation it just didn't work; and because of that, I cannot recommend them. I'll probably return them.

Easy and impressive, looks like the wife was right!

Update: these were not quite as easy to use when I got my van stuck. The holes in my wheels are smaller and the wheel wells are small enough that these knock the walls. I lost one block trying to get out (I needed a tow ultimately and a 4x4 got stuck trying to save me so not the products fault). The remaining one did help. Still a valuable product, it busted one of my wheel wells, but I didn't die of exposure in the wilds on ND, so I'll take the win.Ordered these for my minivan. I live in ND and have a Dodge grand caravan (read hates snow). We had a nasty snow storm last week and the hubs got us stuck (and then towed) in the storm. I ordered these as he worked to shovel us out.Yesterday he got his 4x4 truck stuck (we really did get a lot of snow) in the pasture. I suggested he take my new toy out to test it. After many hours of effort he caved. The blocks went on simply and with no issues (you must have holes in your rims to use them) he was able to get right out using them. There may have been some gentle reminders about my genius. I'm thrilled to have these on me and will feel much safer out in the wilds of ND!

Just In Case

After this pair of Trac-Grabber “unstuckers” arrived I installed one on a rear tire to confirm that they’d fit if they were ever needed to get my pickup unstuck. The strap has to be inserted from the backside of the tire/wheel, and if I have to install these devices because of being stuck, I’m going to get filthy from hugging the tires during installation and removal. So, I’ve added an old coat to the kit, to serve as a filth barrier during installation and removal of the Trac-Grabbers. The Trac-Grabbers (and an old coat) are now part of my always-on-board emergency gear, but like the spare tire and fire extinguishers, I hope I’ll never have to use them. The less than 5-star rating is because of the product's high price and the unavoidable filth factor.
