Tsubame W3011 Notebook, B5, Horizontal Ruled, 0.3 inches (8 mm) x 28 lines, 100 sheets

Tsubame Note used to be so expensive. Now, low-quality notebooks are about the same price. I will buy it again and again.

This is one of 3 Japanese brands of notebooks I have tried. The other 2 are "Apica" brand and the "Kokuyo series."In terms of paper quality, all are at par with each other. Where the separation begins is in the nature of the ruled lines. Though I will add, that from what I have seen of the reviews from other about the other brands the ruled lines are no deal breaker.But it is the nature of those lines that has created a preference for one over another.The Best and the worst in that category goes to Kokuyo notebooks. With the best being their "Mister Series" of notebooks. The worst being their "Kokuyo Campus" versions. Now the Campus edition of Kokuyo has the most faint ruled lines I have ever seen. But like I said earlier, folks don't seem to mind. The Mr Series is as perfect as they come. The lines are sharp and clear.In between the top and bottom are Apica in second place. The lines are equally sharp -- though a slight grade below the Mister notebooks. In 3rd place after Apica is this Tsubame notebooks, with ruled lines that are a tad bit better than the Kokuyo Campus notebook.So, there you have it. And for me, I will stick with either the Mr series from Kokuyo or the Apica notebooks.If the nature of the ruled lines do not serve as a detraction, then by all means go with whichever you think will work best for you. They are all great quality notebooks.Hope you found this review helpful.

Far and away my favorite notebook (I am a Japanese notebook fanatic).Beautiful, laid paper; I don't know the actual weight, only that it is heavier than 20 lbs and less than 60 lbs.Sewn with 4 signatures.Pale blue Index page (I number the pages).The dusty green sage covers have gray fibers (don't know whether they're printed).Dark pens greater than .5 mm will ghost.These can take being bashed around without coming loose.

Super cool notebook that holds ink very well. Has a bit of drying time (I use a Lamy Joy 1.1 Calligraphy pen) but other than that it is awesome. I will be buying more in the future.

I love these notebooks, great quality paper for my college classes.
