we used them in garbage cans, in the bottom of the diaper pail, and (my favorite) in the bottom of the bathroom cabinet to hold the plunger and the toilet brush. They are very useful and we would buy again!

My husband jokingly calls this the "trashcan diaper" but that is actually a great description of the grunge sponge. We have one of those pull out cabinets that holds two standard-size tall kitchen trash cans. In one we have a trashbag for regular garbage. On occasion, it will get punctured or leak so having a Grunge Sponge at the bottom is nice to catch any drips. However, we have found it to be most useful for the matching can which we use for our recycling. The product fits perfectly at the bottom of the can (see photo). We try to be good about recycling but were getting annoyed that when we rinsed a juice bottle, jelly jar, etc. we had to air dry before putting in the can because otherwise the water would leak to the bottom, often taking gross remnants with it. The bottom was always sticky, moldy and smelly. Not anymore! Now we can put them in wet knowing that the Grunge Sponge will soak up any water or dirt. It lasts a long time, we have had the first one in for over a week and it is still going strong. It makes us so much likely to recycle now then toss a jar that is hard to clean into the trash. I can't believe no one thought of this earlier. I was able to purchase this product at a discount in return for nothing but my honest review. I truly love this product.

I love how these pads work! It's an excellent idea. I put the sponge into the bottom of my garbage can, because my kids sometimes overload the bag and break it, and they're bad to put liquids into the garbage can instead of pouring them down the sink. That normally results in a mess in the bottom of the can that has to be scrubbed out and a heavy bag that has to be carried out by yours truly. These pads absorb well when you have something leaking from the garbage bag. They can stay put in the bottom of the garbage can until something leaks and you have to throw the liner away and start with a fresh one.I appreciate that these save me from having to do extra work! They're a nice size and cover the bottom of a 13-gallon garbage can in a bowl shape, without any leaking or other problems. My kids laughed when they first arrived, thinking they were puppy training pads. They are the thickness and feel more like diapers than training pads, and they work well. When I saw these I knew in a minute that I had to have them....so did my friends. I am a clean freak. I like everything in it's place and everything very clean. Some may snicker and say not necessary but to each their own. I like the idea if you take care of things they last a lot longer and hence save you money in the long run. So with that said ....I use my Grunge sponges in my antique bullet style trash can. The insert is metal and it's a must that it stays clean and dry so that it doesn't rust. These sponges are perfect for that. I also keep on in my outside trash can so that if a bag should leak it won't be all over the can and get yucky and smelly. The two sided style for two types of uses is great. Oh, I also threw a folded one in my glove compartment , just in case. The others are just keep on hand and will continue to do so. They're good size and you get twelve of them. For the price you couldn't do better in the store.Do yourself a favor buy Grunge Sponge from Waxman...you will be happy that you did.
