Maybe I’m naive but it didn’t exactly fix my problems with sewing straight. It’s helpful and is much larger than I expected and VERY strong as a magnet (not easy to shift around at all). However I still notice my fabric moves around (on the opposite side of the magnet). If you’re careful and watch the fabric on the edge of the magnet, it can be a good fix.

* Edit - Lowered to 3 - After airing them out for 3 days, they still have a strong grease odor, and Simple Green and clean water does not remove the grease or residue. I tested a scrap of cork fabric and it stained both sides. Because these items are not shipped from an Amazon Warehouse, I will have to pay for shipping out of pocket. Shipping is half the cost of the items, guess I'll toss them in DH's tool box and hope he finds some use for them.Original Review on August 31, 2018 - I bought two magnets to create a guide for strap making on my Juki 8700. The magnets are strong but they were incredibly oily and have strong grease smell that won't come off them. My whole open kitchen and great room area smells after leaving them on the counter to dry out. Putting them in the garage to hopefully air out some more. They are still greasy to the touch, surely can't let them come into touch of the cork I use on bags. :(

Dislike rusty corroded products.

This has been so helpful! It creates a straight edge for your fabric to follow. I line it up with the line marks on my machine to make sure it is straight, then just sew away, keeping the fabric against the edge. Before I bought this, I was a little afraid that there wouldn't be enough metal on my machine to hold it securely, but I needn't have worried, just the metal sole plate holds it very securely.

this definetly helps me maintain a 1/4 inch seam on my quilts. Not the easiest to get off plate when I do not need it but I guess thats a good thing

I just got this today. I used it on a simple project, and what a difference! It's made sewing so much more enjoyable. My machine is a computerized Baby Doc Verve - the very strong magnet didn't remotely affect my electronics. If you sew, get this.

The magnet is SUPER strong but my machine has a plastic bobbin cover. When I position the magnet - half goes on the metal part and the other goes over the bobbin cover so I have to be careful so it doesn't move...

This really won't work for me. I quilt and use a scant 1/4". This is too high and fits right up against the foot, so it sees a little over a whole 1/4". Maybe a narrower foot would work. Will look into that. It is a very powerful magnet, doesn't budge. I
