This is not like the Thermos Nissan that this Replaced
This is not like the Thermos Nissan that this ReplacesFirst of all I did not buy this from this dealer on Amazon. This is not directed to them but since there are no reviews yet they might want to reconsider offering this.I have this same product as a replacement directly from Thermos. The issue is Thermos. I am just blowing of steam and advising that this is not what like used to be sold. Two days ago a "replacement” from the Thermos arrived. It replaced a Thermos Nissan that I enjoyed until it no longer held hot (in my case, tea) like it used to (photos 5, 6, 7). The replacement (first 4 photos) came 12 days after giving Thermos my address. They did not even need me to send the one I had back.Problem #1: I spoke to customer service and specifically asked that the replacement be bubble wrapped and shipped in a larger box than retail box. Last time I needed a replacement it arrived in a box banged up. Customer service assured she would personally bubble wrap the Thermos. Notice the last 2 photos, the condition of the box and the "bubble wrap", exactly as it was when I opened the box. When the replacement arrived first difference I noticed was the stainless was bright and shiny, as was the cheap shiny black plastic handle. (Edwin Lewis Cole used to say the higher the gloss the cheaper the merchandise). Original one had a brushed stainless and matt black plastic finish. Ok, so no big deal, right?Problem #2: I could not screw off the top. It did not budge. I thought maybe this model just pulled off. I pulled until the stainless covering came off the top (photo 2 and 3). It was not even glued in place. Obviously that was the wrong way to open it, so I used a LOT of force and got the top off, minus the stainless veneer.Problem #3: Missing was the 2- piece insert that keeps the contents from coming out. It did have the removable carrying strap and instructions (yahoo). So after contacting Thermos Customer Service today I was assured that the Nissan models are no longer available, she could send me the missing parts, or I can have a call tag sent and ask for some other replacement, which is my plan at this point. Hopefully I will choose something better made. So, to summarize and advise: before buying this see if you can get one in your hands at a retail store to examine. This is a cheaply made imitation of a once well designed and manufactured produce carrying the Thermos Brand.Used to be made in Malaysia, now made in (guess what) China. Not everything made there is trash. But I would expect more from a company like Thermos. They should be embarrassed to promote this as one of their products. Seriously.Consumer Dave

Not worth $.50
One it is cheaply made, second, if you notice the center does not have a threaded opening, so there is not an inner cap, even with a strap wrench, by the time I got to work(luckily) the double zip bag I placed it in was full of soup...I have other thermos bottles that are great but this is not worth $.50...nothing against the seller, just this product from a company that I have used for over 30 years with great products. Imagine it is made in China, with no quality oversight......
