Note: Mechanical timers wear out. But, please read my review!?
I have had two sets of these timers. It's no brainer to set these timers up, it's extremely Elementary. They go bad Within 8 months to a year... I had one take a nosedive on me about 11 months after I programmed it for my grow house. Since they're mechanical they will wear out due to resistance. The outside dial rotates around the center little red indicator. In time the outside dial gets harder to turn around the inside indicator and it will lock completely up. I can't say that a digital is better than a mechanical timer. I chose mechanical because I'm old school. I can touch it, feel it, and know NOW when to replace it. With a digital timer we can't do that. I learned my lesson by not paying attention to how easy that outside dial rotates around the inside. I set it to come on at 6:00 a.m. and go off at 6:00 p.m now. One morning I woke up and my light did not come on, so I looked at my timer and realized that I couldn't even turn the dial. It was not that crucial at the time but if it was a month later I would have ruined all my plants. I'm not bashing this timer! All things mechanical will wear. I have a spare one ready to go timed the same as the one that I have going right now. With these timers, I suggest that you use preventive maintenance. Every once in awhile unplug it and rotate that dial and make sure that it's rotating very easily and that it's not giving you any resistance. Note: when you turn it off and you rotated to see if it's still easy to rotate around the inside ring. You will have to reprogram it. Very easy. When you do check it. If it is getting harder to rotate then when it came out of the box, it is time for you to throw that one away and use the new one that you have already programmed and ready to go. These timers are very reliable straight out of the box and for months on in. They're very inexpensive and they work very well. So, I would highly recommend getting them. Safety in numbers. 2 is what you should have on hand. If one goes bad and you're down to the one, order two more. I mean it's like once a year that you'll be ordering these depending on how you use them. I use mine everyday. At first I had it programmed to 18 hours on, 6 hours off. Then I had to go to 12 hours on, 12 hours off. I did notice that it was harder for me to rotate the outside ring but did not pay too much attention to it until it locked up. I learned my lesson! Just want to pass that lesson on to you. The plants I grow are worth thousands of dollars and if I can rely on these, I think you could too. Just remember to do some preventive maintenance! Please check to see how easy it is to rotate. Good luck, and I hope this helped?

Great price and quality
I have purchased these timers multiple times because they are priced right, they are quiet, they are easy to set, and have had no problems.

Good, small, a bit loud.
Conveniently compact, easy to use. Louder than I'd like - I have one in the bedroom, and I can hear it from the bed - but I only knocked off one star because I'd have no complaints if I were using it in another room.

Easy to set up and have purchased over 15 of them. Great timer lights!!
Love these timers! Makes it so easy to have the lights or whatever you want plugged in to be on when needed. We bought them originally for the Christmas tree and other holiday items but they worked so good we use them year around. Easy to set with the tabs you push down or up based on your desired time on and off. There is a switch on the side to keep the lights on after the times is off of you need then on longer and it remembers your settings. Nice to come home and our lights are on where we want them on. I have purchased over 15 of them so you can say we like them a lot.

Ease of use
It is very easy to set up the time you need to start something, time to end something. And don't forget to set your current time.

Awesome timer for the price
I use this for the lights on my fish tank. It works perfectly and flawless. Both fish tanks turn on and off. At the same time, I just bought two more.

Ended up returning. Feels cheap, not easy to use.
Doesn’t feel heavy duty, not the greatest material/build. Not nearly as easy to use as a digital timer. Ended up returning for those two reasons.

All around good timer; easy to use
The Indoor Mini 24-Hour Mechanical Outlet Timer is a simple, reliable, and affordable solution for automating your appliances and electronics. Whether you’re looking to save energy, enhance security, or simply make your daily routine more convenient, this timer is a versatile tool that gets the job done. I have used mine for years - especially when traveling. Here’s a breakdown of its features and how to use it effectively. Key Features 24-Hour Programming: The timer allows you to set a schedule for your devices in 30-minute increments, giving you full control over when they turn on and off. Manual Override: You can easily switch between “On,” “Off,” and “Timer” modes, giving you flexibility when needed. Compact Design: Its small size makes it ideal for tight spaces, and it fits seamlessly into standard wall outlets without blocking adjacent plugs. Mechanical Operation: Unlike digital timers, this one doesn’t require batteries, making it a low-maintenance option. How to Use the Timer Plug It In: Insert the timer into a standard wall outlet. Plug your device (e.g., a lamp, fan, or holiday lights) into the timer. Set the Current Time: Rotate the dial clockwise until the arrow points to the current time. The dial is marked in 24-hour increments for easy reference. Program the Schedule: Push down the tabs around the dial to set the “On” times. Each tab represents a 30-minute interval. For example, if you want your device to turn on at 6:00 PM and off at 10:00 PM, push down the tabs from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Select the Mode: Slide the switch on the side to “Timer” mode to activate the schedule. Use “On” for continuous power or “Off” to keep the device turned off. Adjust as Needed: If your schedule changes, simply reset the tabs or rotate the dial to update the timing. Pros Easy to Use: The mechanical design is straightforward, making it accessible even for those who aren’t tech-savvy. Energy-Saving: Perfect for controlling lights, heaters, or air conditioners, helping you reduce energy consumption. Affordable: Priced competitively, it’s a cost-effective way to automate your home. Cons Limited Precision: The 30-minute intervals may not be precise enough for some users who need more granular control. No Battery Backup: Since it’s mechanical, it resets during power outages, requiring you to reprogram it afterward.

Reliable & well built
I have 4 of these timers & none of them have failed me yet. Worth buying. They'll last for many years as there is no digital display or any internals which can go bad. I run house plant lights off of them, as well as various electronics which I have shut off automatically so I'm not sitting up too late at night watching tv or on my laptop. I have my Apple TV, my actual TV, living room lamp & Roku plugged in to an Anker power bar, which I then plug in to this timer. When everything shuts off thanks to the timer, I go to bed. I also use the times to shut other electronics & lamps on & off in my home when I'm out of town. Great for an aditional layer of security, along with my cameras. The one improvement I would like to see is having 2 outlets on each timer. I recommend them.

BN-LINK-BND-60/U47 Mechanical Timer Recommendation
I purchased the BN-Link indoor 24-hour outlet timer for my coffee urn, which does not have a on-off switch, have to plug-in to start and unplug to shut-off, not convenient at all! I received the timers and followed the instructions, plugged the timer into the kitchen socket, prepared the urn for coffee, plugged in the urn to the timer and the next morning had freshly brewed coffee. Also, the timer will shut off the power to the urn at the desired set time, great for us forgetful seniors! I have been using this product since December 2025, would highly recommend.
