Uplift Memory Foam Medical Seat Assistant 200-350 lb - MED-UL300

I bought this for my mother, who is in her 80's and has knee problems. Unfortunately, it is too awkward to be of much use and overpriced for what it is. She can't use it on a sofa or recliner, where the real knee problems crop up. It's only functional on a hard chair. But getting up from a hard chair isn't the issue. It also slips around so it's hard to get it set just right. If you set the spring too low, it doesn't help you. But if you set it a tad too high, it will cause a loss of balance getting up (and may cause a fall).

The product description doesn't say that it shouldn't be used on a recliner. I found it very hard to set the weight. It was uncomfortable to sit on and didn't lift me very well. It says 350 lbs. I am 300. The information also doesn't say that the item can't be returned. I am contacting customer service to see if I can arrange a return.

Useful but not very comfortable for long sitting. Terrible instructions that don't tell how to set the weight. Be careful that your seat is against a wall or you may get dumped on the floor getting up - it lifts fast!. Not great for chairs with wheels, for that reason. Also may dump you if you reach forward for something - use a grabber at all times!

I was skeptical, but it works. The weight adjustment was easier than I had thought it would be. The movement of the product assists in acheiving standing position from sitting position.
